Just as women don’t worry about being raped, assaulted, discriminated against, because we have equal rights. Well, somewhere. Rights to abortion, health care, education, no FGM, driving licence, working, especially in prostituion and porn … etc
We can apply to represent our people in government, that’s why women are so under-represented. We can fight our way up the corporate ladder, that’s why women are so under-represented. Equality.
We can go for empowerment: lap dancing, pole dancing, pornography, prostitution. Great opportunities there.
But why can people grasp the discrimination against different skin colours, and they choose to ignore it against women? Figment of the ‘female brain’ I guess. There is no discrimination. Women are now equal. Won’t be in my lifetime.
Not while we have ‘everyone is equal’ humainst/liberal/ill-informed advocates.

Well saying everyone is equal sure is easier than actually looking at the systemic problems of society and working to change them.
Even easier if you happen to be part of the class that is currently benefiting from the status-quo.

No Arb. I think the SJWs (including those who deny they are) want to point out we just need to juggle the playing field around a bit and it will all be hunky dory. A few appropriate laws, employment, no discrimination, not sure what else, and society changes overnight :)
Wonderful. Just talk to those in the mythical oppressed class. Can’t even go to the toilet in privacy any more.

Egalitarians and most Liberals realize that sexism and racism exist. Some (majority I would say) just disagree that adopting a female only perspective is the right or only way to battle it.

@GC. So women should accept a male view of defining sexism? And a male view of how to battle it? Why?

Because waiting for the majority representing the status-quo to fix said problems has worked so well in the past…
Change in society happens when groups of people come together and disrupt the status quo, and thus the normal functioning of society to a point where either the demands are met, or ‘society proper’ is brought down.
Solidarity, collective action, class politics, are the beating heart that drives progress in human societies. We’ve moved away from that, buying into the self-atomized neo-liberal consumerist doctrine that ensures that people are segmented enough not to see common causes as their own.
