This video is full of propaganda. Reagan took down Carter’s Solar Panels to fix the roof. When he decided that it was not efficient to reinstall them, I did not see the country go nuts. I have yet to find a cost benefit analysis of Carter’s Solar Panels. Believe me I have tried.
My guess is that like most Green Ideas it was all BS. I t probably cost far more to purchase, install, and maintain than it ever saved in real energy costs at the White House. If I am in error, please show me.

Alan, it is a movie trailer.
I will reserve my judgment until I see the whole movie. Plus, usually with documentaries like this they give a comprehensive list of sources at the end, so then we can both research and check the veracity of their claims. Ingrained biases: ‘like most Green Ideas it was all BS’ aside. (Although full marks for not making a categorical statement, and using the word ‘most’, there still might be hope for you yet Mr.Scott.)
