And no, religious friends, you don’t get to follow up with the working in ‘mysterious ways’ dodge either.

Funny. In a depressing sort of way. On a par with ‘God found me a parking spot today’.

Wait, there can be more than one awesome god?
Is that even possible? Although the Tupperware angle makes yours much more useful…

The prosaic nature of prescribed faith is depressing. :/
Symptomatic of a lack of critical thinking. Almost like it isn’t encouraged by the religious or something…

Veles (whose very shadow excites enchanted woodland creatures) is benevolent and practical. He also owns and operates all those tiny shoelace shops.

How wonderful!! God cares more about her recipe than he does the lives of tornado victims and those killed by Muslim mass murderers. Lovely

But exactly 2/3 of a cup? For this particular recipe? It is not coincidence but rather, providence. :)

we all did it as christians before we deconverted. it’s a form of ‘picking your battles’ that they do as well.
they can’t understand why god only does small inconsequestial things instead of actually saving lives and healing amputees… so they will incessantly reassure themselves with meaningless bull shit like this.

Reblogged this on The Recovering Know It All and commented:
Not another post on Prayer and Confirmation Bias…? Yes son, take your medicine. it may taste horrible going down but it will make you strong and healthy again. Soon you will also be a Recovering Know It All like your dad.

One might wonder why the near-sighted old bastard misses the big stuff, eh – this milk measuring dude sounds more like one of Sir Terry Pratchett’s “small gods”!

But, but, but, mysterious ways and all things great and small and…
Yeah.
Pretty much hokum and silliness in equal parts when it comes to ‘divine’ interventions.

Reminds me of the Scientologists’ “success stories.” I found my keys, I found a parking space immediately, I got no red lights…
