Wow. Insightful writing. :)
There’s a new catchcry in town. It’s been flying around New Zealand media like a ball in a pinball machine since February 20, when Family First launched a campaign called Ask Me First. The campaign amplifies the voice of Laura, an 18 year-old student who has challenged policy changes at a New Zealand all girls’ high school. The policy changes were made to accommodate a student who identifies as trans. Liberal media is reacting to Laura’s concerns with loud wails of “transphobia!” – but have any of these journalists really considered what “transphobia” might actually mean?
Does transphobia really mean, never questioning or turning over in one’s mind the views or demands of a trans person? Couldn’t obliging with haste and without question to someone’s demands, be a sign of fear?
And could noisy, flailing overcompensation perhaps be a symptom of deep discomfort, too?
I’m thinking of that

Nice blog find.
Of course I know I’m ‘transphobic’ and ‘terfy’. There are plenty of people out there telling me so. I care about women’s rights and want to see the few we have maintained, and preverably gain a little more ground rather than cede it.
But to be serious, the trans issue is not a feminist one to fight. We have our own issues. Exactly the same ones we have had for thousands of oppressed patriarchal years. Despite what our well-off liberal-minded sisters may think.

I do wish she wouldn’t signal-boost Matt Walsh. He refers to “rape culture” in inverted commas. He’s a Christian supremacist (see here – http://www.theblaze.com/podcasts/matt-walsh-liberal-christians-why-not-stand-up-for-your-own-faith-for-once/ – persecuted muslims are “perceived” attacks on Islam, don’t you know). He says feminists “are apt to cry harassment when a man so much as compliments a woman in the wrong way”. Another pearl from the article which Renee approvingly quotes from is ‘“Male entitlement,” “male privilege,” “rape culture,” all of these terms are thrown at men for any and every reason under the sun’. He says abortion should be illegal and supports the institution of heterosexual marriage (no other kind).

I agree, but reading the article it seems that she’s just doing due diligence and quoting her source.
Even broken clocks are correct twice a day. :/
