After following the link to the main blog I have to say sorry, nope. Not going to follow the absolute shit advice to tell my 5 year old her Kindergarten isn’t safe. Irrespective of whether it is or not this is going to do harm to my child. She most certainly isn’t going to understand the nuance between we have a culture where this literally could happen at any time, anywhere versus that someone is literally going to come in and murder her the next time she goes to school because daddy taught her that her school isn’t safe because Republicans love to give guns to bad men who murder children. And honestly, if the worst should happen and a school shooting does happen at her school and she dies, at least she will only be terrorised for those few minute rather than literally *every fucking time she goes to school, or the night before school, or even thinks about going to school*.
And this just doesn’t go for 5 year olds, pretty much any child doesn’t need to be burdened with their parents telling them that a rage monkey is going to come in and murder them at school *because they are powerless to change anything about the reality of this*. And honestly, even for the most biggest slacktivist out there their efforts of having this 5 minute conversation of terrorising your own child is better spend by sending a quick 5 minute email to your government representative. At least that might work towards changing something.
