Hmm, does that seem like an objective analysis and portrayal of what was said? Community notes on X got a hold of the hatchet job and suddenly the original tweet was deleted and replaced with this:

Here is the original quote:

I’m questioning what is being taught in the ethics of journalism classes because the original example seems pretty much as far away from objective, unbiased reporting one can get.

Gosh, the news media, in order to make bigger and bigger profits, are hiring less and less qualified employees. I wonder where they got that idea?

What are you getting at Steve?
Are you saying that because of the profit motive the writers, editors, and editorial staff do not have the capacity to engage in the most basic practices of journalism? Look at the actual quote and then the first media release provided. Is that a case of being incompetent? Is that the best reason that fits for what happened here?
I don’t want to assume what you are insinuating, but this is what came across – It is because of capitalism/corporatism that media agencies have lowered their standards and because of lack of journalistic knowledge/ability this mistake was made. Am I close on that read?
Do you think it is a better explanation that the AP, at least in this case, is operating from not a position of journalistic objectivity, but rather a viewpoint with a discernible political bias?

Calling school shooters “psychos” isn’t helpful either. The whole “shooter/mental illness” meme is wrong on a lot of fronts & Vance doesn’t do anything to help this. I agree about the MSM but Vance is a jerk & promotes a LOT of hatred & lies.
