The loons are in overdrive in the United States and as a general rule the farther south one goes the loonier it gets. Rick Perry is prime example of the the cringe inducing, bile forming sectarian yahoo’s that ooze out of the woodwork and somehow gain political power. Darkmatter2525 illustrates quite nicely how the wyrm of religious zealotry is destroying the secular, rational basis of society.
Is it just me or does every republican politician preach racism, sexism and bigotry to appeal to the wack-a-loon conservative “value voters” ( *sproing* my irony meter just imploded) and once their votes are secured by promising to disenfranchise demonized minority X (women, homosexuals, PoC, etc) they promptly ignore said base and continue to happily cement the budding plutocracy. You would think this ploy would get old like after the first five times, but behold Perry is knocking them out of the park once again.
Sometimes the weather works in your favour. This video by Concordance is a perfect example of just such an occasion.
Perhaps the good governor will pray for atheists next time. :)
Rick Perry is delusional. What is worse, he is propagating and magnifying his own personal stupid beliefs and inflicting them on the people of America. When faux news steps up and starts supporting your cause, that should be the first indicator that you have left the land of the rational and now are mired in the magical bullshite sands of religious indoctrination.
Texas and a good portion of the southwestern US is being baked into submission due to the changing climate. When the desert is licking at your front doorstop, I think then the idea that we are having a negative effect on our biosphere might sink in. Then again, maybe just another prayer rally will make things all better.
