To answer his question at the end, it’s clear the answer is no. In a marketplace of ideas, what is popular, not what is truthful or factual will win every single time. Perception becomes reality, just as it did with the health care debate in the US. Somehow a public option, which was thrown out at the beginning of the debate became the rallying call for those against the bill.
I was starting to write a rant, but I’ll stop there.
