I think the Republican “fail” hasn’t been their intransigence on Obamacare and the shutdown, but rather their complete incompetence in getting a clear and fact-based message out there – one without all their hypocrisy (about spending), religious zealotry, or old political hackery going along with it.
If they’d just stick mostly to the math and shut up about the rest, I think they’d get somewhere but instead, they seem to keep wanting to play every tired, laughable political gimmick they can which makes them look like nothing but a bunch of sore loser old fools.
This administration has committed a number of infractions that so far, and they’ve pretty much gotten away with them. The financial meltdown, foreign policy, Obamacare, Benghazi, IRS targeting, or whatever else will come next (there’s still two more years). With Obamacare, like Moyers says, it’s very flawed. All the Republicans had to do, though, was challenge the Administration on three simple points:
1) Why all the waivers for big corporations? Show the math on how this keeps premiums high, and millions still uncovered.
2) Why is Congress exempt from the laws that they passed? Play this one just for political points. They changed the law on Congresspeople being able to participate in insider trading, why can’t they change the law to make Congresspeople participants in Obamacare?
3) Why are unions not liking it? For the first time, unions going against a Democratic president? They should have been all over this.
Instead they’re trying to still play this “repeal” b.s. and pulling the usual stunts like cutting up oversized credit cards on C-SPAN and reciting Green Eggs and Ham for 21 hours straight. It’s a joke, and they’re a joke.
I supported the NDP being the minority party because I believe the party in power always needs a strong and smart opposition. Unfortunately right now, America doesn’t have it.
Sorry if this is too much rant for someone else’s blog!

Interesting – Moyers simply says, “Not true” on the FOX talking points without actually stating what the truth, then, actually is. I have no doubt which way FOX’s spin goes here, however Moyers simply saying, “Not true” and then offering nothing to support his statement is just spin the other way, and I think part of the problem right now in American politics – just another tv “news” personality giving too much opinion and not enough fact.
