Semi-related curiosity, do you find baroque keyboard music harder to play than (say) classical or romantic keyboard music? My own guess would be yes, in part because there’s a lot more polyphony in baroque music.

Absolutely!
The trick is that with stuff like the the 2 and 3 part inventions is polyphony as you said, putting that into action means you’re playing all sorts of ‘unrelated’ notes in both hands to keep the various melodies going. It’s tough. :)
