Now that’s your problem: you’re thinking again. You’re not supposed to THINK, just BELIEVE. It’s all fine and dandy if you just believe. Thinking is of the Devil. Didn’t they teach you nothing in Sunday school or catechism? No wonder you’re confused. You know you’re like that girl who asked, “Where did Cain’s wife come from?” or “How did Mary get pregnant and still remain a virgin?” God can do anything HE wants, it’s like the ape chant: “We’re all right because we say we are, and if we say we are it must be true.” [The ape chant: Rudyard Kipling]

Having a citizenry that things, pauses, and critically analyzed what is going on around them is bad news for the elite in society.
Religion stands as a glitzy bulwark against people seeing things as they are and taking action to change said things.
Not the oldest trick in the book, but pretty darn close. :(

I imagine the results after boffing ones siblings bore fruit – so to speak- informed the morality of the time.
Or maybe god said so, but who is counting? : )
