The author states: “I obviously think transracialism is absurd and offensive.” Hello? Race is a societal construct, There is no Irish race or Asian race or black race scientifically. Since it is wholly made up from people’s incorrect perceptions, why cannot there be “transracialism?” If I am a Democrat (I am not.) I can become a Republican by filling out a simple form. My grandfather was Hispanic, so I can claim to be either “white” or “Hispanic” on forms as my mood dictates.
People seem to get so involved with their own issues that everything they see gets filtered through their own mauve-colored glasses.

So, then should black people simply identify as white to foil the racism that is deployed against them?
