I’m not sure why this is even a story. Electing rapists is a thing in the US (please please tell me how patriarchy isn’t a thing) and this ‘stain’ on Biden’s history won’t affect his public persona a whit.
Biden is bulletproof on this issue. He just needs to stand behind the aegis that the current president has erected. The Grab them By the Pussy in Chief has got Biden’s back.
The state of the body politic in the US is revolting – I should not have to be commenting on the normalization of the abuse of women by politically powerful men in 2020, yet here we are.

Reade’s account is not credible. But at least it can be investigated.
If Biden were to follow his own support for Title IX, he’d already be convicted simply by the accusation alone. Hundreds if not thousands of male university and college students have already been ‘convicted’ on Biden’s Title IX process – where the accuser remains hidden, where the prosecutor is also the judge and jury, where no evidence beyond testimony needs to be considered – and considered only by the prosecutor who just so happens to also be the appeals judge – simply because females have accused them – often at a later date… sometimes decades later – of some impropriety. THIS is the dust bunny we are urged to pay attention to when it comes to any male in any position of authority. In those few cases where’s the males have not been forced into oblivion but have had the means and wherewithal to take on the onerous task of proving innocence, where’s the Press? Where is the outcry against these women? Where’s the equality in vilification and presumption of guilt? Oh right… back to the dust bunny we go.
And into the seppuku setting that the woke creates for the defenders of civil society with this kind of insanity is the public vulnerability necessary to dismantle every single enlightenment value that supports western liberal secular democracy by its enemies. That’s the house burning down.

So far today Reade has skipped a scheduled interview with Mike Wallace , said she didn’t file a complaint and said she put her complaint on a clipboard attached to the fridge in the congressional lunchroom

I’m not entirely sure this story holds water. To be fair, I’m not really following it, but the ground seems to keep moving. Patterns matter, and while I think he has a history of being a little touchy, a close talker, but actual sexual assault, predation?

Biden’s a sleazeball. Just reading his Wikipedia entry will leave you in no doubt he’s a corporatist. The MBNA Visa man. Caring about John and Jane Doe on the street and Medicare? You must be kidding. That’s not the way elite Americans think. They’re letting them rot in the streets with this pandemic. It’s cheaper. Hear dear old doddering Joe complaining? Of course not. Plus Biden is one of those unfortunate people you occasionally meet who plow right through personal space, a hugger. Eww.
Yet due to the patriotic BS Americans have been subjected to for a century, the average serf literally believes they’re living in paradise. A more navel-gazing, self-praising society that ignores anything happening in the rest of the world hasn’t been constructed. Even their progressive alternative press is 95% US content or how it affects their country. Americans aren’t actually interested in anywhere else. We’re all just “them” to them. Canada receives faint derision – why, if we had any git-up-and-go, we’d head on down there and make a fortune, like 99% of them already have! But we’re boring socialist Canucks.
Canadian commentators get so bound up with the torrent of what Americans think, I wonder even if feminism itself is hashing over American norms and beliefs and problems, just as we do in so many other things. We receive our foreign policy from a basement office in the Pentagon according to Michael Hudson. Like, what’s the Canadian feminist scene? Is it as screwed up as the American one, and who cares about them and what they think anyway — they’re weird.
Biden is just part of the regular load of pols that runs the US for the corporate entities and themselves. Is he a groper or worse? Wouldn’t surprise me. Trump boasts that power let’s these powerful dolts do anything they damn well want, they’re bigwig businessmen or politicians. Use your own imagination for a logical conclusion.
I love this old quote from Julius Nyerere, the liberation PM and Prez of Tanzania from 1962 to 1985, all during the time of US tramping boots offering excess “free” loan money to African countries which couldn’t possibly be paid back, so they took all the furniture istead. The EU did it to Greece recently. It’s the age-old story of the scam artist. So Trump and Biden well fit with Nyerere’s old observation:
“The United States is a one-party state but, with typical American extravagance, they have two of them.”

A little touchy/sexual predator… it doesn’t really matter. Men with records of shitty behaviour toward women can still get positions of power in society.
The level of Biden’s malfeasance is secondary, I think issue that is more important is that even if he was Mr.HandsyMcgee it wouldn’t matter in terms of his ability to elected or hold important office.
