Did you need to see an example of extreme gender ideological bias in the Canadian News Media? Check out “Rights aren’t a Competition” over at CTV news.  Yikes.  Anyways, here is my letter to the producers and CTV news regarding the atrocity that is that article.

“To the producers of the “Rise of Anti-Trans Hate”.

Were any professional journalists involved in writing this piece? What I see represented in this article is a biased interpretation of the struggle for female rights, boundaries, and safety in Canada.

Journalism should be about presenting issues for public consumption that allow people to see the complexity and nuance of said issue and then make an informed decision. The opposing side – Women aka adult human females – are not given a voice, nor is their position charitably disclosed.

(from the article)

Adrienne Smith, a trans non-binary social justice lawyer in Vancouver, said there is no threat to women’s groups by including trans, two-spirit, non-binary and gender non-conforming people.”

You know who might have an opinion about this? – Women. The Vancouver Women’s Rape Relief Shelter (https://rapereliefshelter.bc.ca/) might be a place to start, as they are on the front-line of this conflict of rights having been defunded by the city of Vancouver (at the behest of similar transgender ideologues) because they do not allow MEN into a women’s rape shelter.

Of course there are ‘no threats’ to women and women’s groups if you don’t look. If doing proper journalism one might have the expectation of doing the smallest of amount of due diligence in getting the other side of the story.

“The ideas aren’t necessarily new, but the difference is, I think a lot of TERFs […]”

Did you know that Terf is slur used to shame and silence women attempt to defend their rights, boundaries, and safety? Again, this article makes no attempt to charitably examine the position of the women defending their sex based rights as defined in the Canadian Charter of rights.

One Canadian group claims that accepting trans people in “sex-segregated” spaces would be dangerous. For TERFs, this means not allowing trans people to use bathrooms and change rooms that align with their gender, not allowing them to access shelters based on their gender for unfounded fear that they will prey on women and girls using these spaces. “

You mean unfounded fears like males, while in female prisons, sexually assaulting female prisoners?

“CA — Kitchener, Ontario. On August 19, 2020, Heather Mason, former Canadian federal prisoner and advocate for women in prison, posted on Facebook that a trans prisoner called Sam had been charged with sexually assaulting a woman at Grand Valley Institute (GVI) for Women.” –

Now rapists are pretending to be women to go to women’s jail. Rapists are inside our women’s jail raping our women. Men are using this loophole to access already vulnerable women who have no voice or platform to speak from. Our government is setting up women to be sexually assaulted by these male rapists…Men are raping women inside our prisons right now. I know this. Allowing these goof men inside our prison for women concerns me. But you are all concerned that these men’s feelings are being hurt when we all say they are not a real woman. We are not the same.”

Transgender Inmate Charged with Sexual Assault at a Women’s Prison

So, I think reasonable people would agree that “unfounded fears[s]” is a factually incorrect statement, one that should not be in the public record, as it serves the function of erasing female concerns about their rights and safety in Canadian society.

The article deserves a full Fisking because how unprofessional it is. The blatant disregard for reporting the most basic of relevant facts, the omnipresent gender ideological prism, and the utter lack of charitable treatment for the women (and women’s groups) holding positions contrary to gender ideology.

A correction, a retraction, or a rebuttal piece is required at this point in time to apologize for and correct the dire example of the journalism on display.”
