A picture of typically dressed Iranian females before the Iranian Islamic revolution (pre-1979).

It was time to make women into non-people and become a crazed warmongering religious cult state. Exactly what the world needed! :/

And western feminist organizations have not only been silent on condemning this loss of personhood but complicit in excusing it by pretending all value systems are equal and deserving of our respect.
From The Free Press’ Douglas Murrays Things Worth Remembering (Oct20 ’24): In Malcolm Muggeridge’s excellent memoir, ‘Chronicles of Wasted Time’ he recalls meeting George Orwell and says the power of Orwell’s books was to show, “that the world of the mid-twentieth century was moving towards a collectivised way of life, whose only truth would be slogans, whose only duty would be conformity and whose only morality would be power.” Welcome to the fully wokened ‘progressive’ achievement (My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings; Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!).
Iran today is the gold standard of where western woke progressivism is headed.

Horrifying to see how far a bad government can push a society backward. The irony is that nearly a half-century of theocratic rule has thoroughly soured people on such restrictions. Today slightly less than half of Iran’s population even identifies as Muslim. When the regime finally falls, modernity is likely to re-assert itself very quickly.
