The faux-feminists and men’s rights activists currently in power in British Columbia need to be voted out ASAP. Ms.Boyle decided that female only spaces AT A RAPE CRISIS centre were wrong in EXCLUDING MEN from their lodgings and services.
This half baked fuck-wittery needs to be very, very, far away from the levers of political power.
The overt antisemitism was removed for the final draft… I don’t seem to remember my course syllabi being activist and promoting the ludicrous idea of safe spaces.
University is meant to be a place where you can be challenged and your thoughts and methodologies scrutinized and criticized so you can become a better thinker.
The last paragraph speaks against all of what University is supposed to be about.
This is why need definitions that comport with reality. Sex is binary and immutable, your strong gender feels will never *ever* change that. If Lyft wanted to actually safely serve their female clientele they wouldn’t let delusional men onto the female driver list.
We all know that being woke requires you hand in your critical thinking card, because the ideology is circular and not internally consistent. But then there are those who through some strange series of events somehow think that being woke simply means becoming aware of injustice and its a good thing. This is an example of what the activists mean by being ‘woke’.
Being woke mean judging people inherently as members of superficial identity groups, then slotting them into a rubegoldberg-esque rubric of power/oppression ratings,and then judging their claim as to where they fall on this bullshit ‘matrix of oppression’. The more oppression factors you have been deemed to have the more troothiness your claim is.
Watch what happens though when you inadvertently break a trip wire and your ‘oppressed privilege rating’ isn’t high enough for the claim you make.

Hilarious. However this does represent an important point about activist behaviour: They almost always put narratives ahead of truth and reality, never give them that leg to stand on in an conversation. Always insist your conversations be grounded in the objective material reality we all share.
