The god of justice, compassion and eternal fiery torment for us atheist types gives us proof of his love in his most revered book…
I’m thinking with a kill streak like that god probably has an *aimbot.
(* For those unfamiliar with FPS computer gaming – an aimbot is a program designed to let the users cheat while playing a multiplayer map)
Finding out that many religions are paradoxical is like making the discovery that there happens to be chlorine in salt. Looking at the basis of the christian god it is obvious that not one, but several paradoxes are required to make sense of who or what he/she happens to be.
Like many religious arguments that end with, “I feel it in my heart” or “I believe it to be true” the following needs be added to the lexicon of say nothing evasive responses -“OH, its supernatural…” Watch darkmatter 2525 probe the depths of this topic.
Betting on infinity is a tough choice to justify. Pascal tried and failed… will you?
Mr.Mckenna on relativism and how it makes us into polite but foolish people. I see the religiously addled beginning to froth thinking perhaps that once we get rid or relativism we can get back to the unctuous vapidity of absolute morality…no no kiddies, what we are talking about here is moving debate back toward rational discourse. Delusional filled magic books and reverence for sky-daddies will get the rough treatment they deserve.
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a believer? To put the mythology before reality, place higher regard for fiction over fact? This clip shows a ‘man on the street’ interviewer with a desperately poor couple, begging for money in front of a big box retailer. The interviewer offers them $20 dollars if they cross the word “god” off their sign.
They refuse. Their belief in the sky fairy and what would happen if they went against them directly affected their immediate physical future. Apparently, a hot meal for little Timmy, is not worth hazarding god’s wrath. Watch now and see how holding delusional beliefs are dangerous not only to you, but those around you.
This is why we campaign so strongly here at DWR against the purulence that is christianity and religion in general. Sacrificing the welfare of your child for your belief in magic is unconscionable. Make no mistake, it is religion that is at fault here and it should be done away with as soon as possible.
I’ve never seen an episode of the West Wing, but I would have liked to been there for the episode that has this gem of clip contained within it. I’ve posted this before, but I like it so *poof* here it is again showing exactly why religion, without question, needs to be kept out of the affairs of state.
Wooo! *fist-pump*
