Shall I compare thee to a Summer’s Day. Just finished singing this in choir, great piece and as usual, the tenor part is the hardest.. :)

You sing choir as well? Arb, you truly are a Renaissance woman!
When i lived in Sao Paulo i’d go on Thursday mornings to Mosteiro de São Bento, a drop-dead gorgeous church to listen to the Benedictine monks sing Gregorian chants. They also had a bakery there which was heavenly… excuse the pun.

Love the harmonies in this piece!!! Thanks for posting this on this very dreary Friday (here in Ottawa). BTW, I sang this in a choir years ago, but can’t remember the composer!

Unfortunately all I remember is that he’s a Swedish jazz musician. Not awfully helpful, sorry.

I sing in two choirs John..:)
Errr…now why would I be complaining about the tenor part if I was a woman? :)
Singing in churches is one of the few good things about them, usually the acoustics are amazing, making hacks like TIO and myself sound good. :)
If more churches had bakeries that would be a good thing – nice to have useful stuff going on.

It was composed and arranged by Nils Lindberg.

Emmm, now that you mention it that did register in my brain as odd. OK then, let’s try that again: “Arb, you truly are a Renaissance Man!” Sound better? :)

Not necessarily better, just more accurate at least from a gender point of view. :)
Renaissance worthy? Probably not, as I would need to be much more well read and more cultured. :)
It does happen occasionally, sometimes the alto ranges is just a little to high for some women, and thus they sing tenor. We had this situation in our choir the year before last. It was a unique experience. :>
