I’m amused. The denizens of Bullshite Mountain just *will not* give in to reason. We are messing with the earth’s climate and the best the right wingnutz can do is blame the government for attempting to infringe on their right to destroy biosphere. I’m thinking that when New York is underwater, and Florida an undersea park, then… then we might start getting stuff done when it comes to maintaining our environment. Jon Stewart attempts and fails to remain apolitical when the crazy overwhelms him and forces his hand. One cannot just *not* comment when the weapons grade stupidity is being fired full auto on the air waves.

It would be nice if you could get people to look at actual, real evidence before they make claims like this. But sadly, people don’t care about real evidence, or at least people like this. Global Climate Change is real. This is the consensus of scientists. Moreover, if you choose the 1 or 3 scientists who aren’t convinced as your evidence (usually the 3 that work at the Discovery Institute) then you are doing a great disservice to the real scientists in the field. Only in “Murica” is it accept to stomp the piss out of the only body of professionals who are interested in the truth, not in the profit margins of big corporations. Only in “Murica” is it okay to demonize thinking, intellectualism, and free thought. Because only in “Murica”, does freedom entail that you have the right to infringe upon others freedom because you don’t believe in it, or agree with it. It’s because of this America that thinks this way that I’ll one day leave this country for a place with less wackos running things.

This is ridiculous on both sides. The left keeps changing the label from “AGW”, to “Global Warming” to “Climate Change” and lumping all the arguments together even though the topics are distnct. They also try and paint all the arguments as “if” arguments instead of letting them be arguments about not if but “how much”, i.e. how much are we (humans, industry, dead leaves, farting cows, etc.) actually having an impact on temperature.
The right, on the other hand, tries to dismiss all three arguments in one fell swoop simply because what, Fox News says so, or because deniers’ tongues keep sticking to metal? I don’t know.
Bottom line is there’s big business behind BOTH sides of the debate, though, and whenever someone is calling someone either a “Climate Denier!” or a “Freedom Stealer!”, they’re both being played for fools.
The right’s doing the bidding of big energy and the left’s doing the bidding of big banks and financiers, letting political cronyism run wild under the guise of so-called “green energy”. Election paybacks in the amount of billions get paid back as free money to “phony” green energy companies who just happen to be tied to former donors and bundlers, but hey, slap a label of “green energy” on all those transactions and liberals will let them just roll on by, which is exactly what they’ve been doing yet they want all of us to believe they’re smarter, care more, and somehow are more fit to run a country yet daily the same kind of ignorance and apathy shines through.
Call out this ignorance and apathy, and now it becomes who’s a “Climate Denier” and who’s a “Freedom Stealer!” – an argument liberals and conservatives keep loving to get into – but ultimately it’s just a back and forth that keeps big business safe and rich on the top and idiots glued to Fox and MSNBC (and broke, btw) at the bottom. Keep the peasants fighting amongst themselves and they won’t have the time, energy, or focus to be fighting against you. That’s worked for kings for centuries, and it’s working for them now.
People would see this, but they’re too in love with themselves and sanctimonious to even have a clue. Big business, however, which plays to both sides of politics, just keeps looking down and laughing. If any have ever been in the room with them then you’ll know what I mean, but hey, let’s keep talking about how the right wingers are all loonies and the left are all a bunch of pot-smoking dumbasses in the meantime. Nothing will continue to happen but my stocks will continue to go up either way because of all the bloviating and sensationalism from either side, so thanks! ;)
