Fascinating. :) I wonder how much filtering went into making the midi file as I detect a fair amount of western influence – parallel 6th etc.

I know nothing about music composition, but this sounded to me to be the most basic expression. Not sure how they determined time, either, but its a start. I’d love to hear a version performed by musicians who have time to play with it, using period correct instruments. This music, more than a thousand written hymns, gives a window onto their lives.
