Man, I really wish I didn’t understand this way of thinking. I really do. Unfortunately when you grow up endlessly hearing about how horrible the Liberals are and how the NEP destroyed our country then you can understand this. It’s a social sickness really. Hating the Liberals(tm) and supporting the conservatives is almost a cult like religion out here in the sticks.
I’ve met people who are literally consuming more social services than they could ever afford to pay if they were in a private delivery model spout off to me, without any prompting and in an unwelcome manner, just how much they hate all these progressive morons ruining their once great province. I know I shed myself of these notions but it took actively engaging into politics for me to see what each political party has been doing and realise that my opinions on the political parties did not reflect my views on what the government should be doing. Most people I know has a level of political knowledge of Liberals bad, NDP super bad, and may god bless the Conservative party.
