Our universities are becoming madrassas. What passes for the Academy today in Canada is a fraud. These institutions of ‘higher learning’ are not interested in open debate and challenging ideas; rather, they put into policy obedience to preferred viewpoints. These termite institutions are destroying the very foundations of the Enlightenment. On the public dime.

I’m not against the protesting, that is a necessary part of society. It’s just when they break the rules – dig in and encamp, for one; threaten Jewish students and faculty for two – I have a problem. I would share a similar stance if I was wholeheartedly in support of the cause in question.
The University, as you mentioned, needs to be able to freely focus through many lenses while analyzing society – The power differential/social justice lens should not be the only metric.
