Bill Board Chris – Children Cannot Consent to Puberty Blockers

Featuring argumentation with dodges such as “Gender is complicated”… Actually it isn’t. Gender is the sex based stereotypes society happens to hold at the moment.
Note the fragile narcissism at the end – its okay for her to call Chris as asshole – but to have her arguments described (rightly) as retarded is quite beyond the pale for her.

The DWR Friday Baroque Interlude – Oboe Concerto in F major BWV 1053r

This Concerto for Oboe in F major, performed by Emma Black and the Netherlands Bach Society for All of Bach, is a reconstruction of an oboe concerto, based on the keyboard concerto in E major, BWV 1053. Oboists did fairly well out of Bach, as his oeuvre contains more than two hundred oboe solos. They often concern one or two oboes in opening choruses and arias in the cantatas. But the true solo repertoire is sparse. For example, no solo concertos for oboe have survived. There are indications that Bach did indeed compose oboe concertos, whose manuscripts and parts have been lost over the years. For a complete oboe concerto, however, we have to rely on reconstructions, such as this Oboe Concerto in F major BWV 1053r.

“Social Justice” Creeping into STEM is Problematic.

A short clip but interesting as the woman discusses that for her to continue fruitfully in her academic career she is going to have to “prove” she is a good person. How do you prove you are good person? You repeat the mantras – whether they are relevant to your field or not – to show allegiance. Not if you have demonstrated you are good teacher. Not if you are competent in your field. No, competency doesn’t matter it’s the acquiescence to the dogma is the sticking point.
Scary stuff.
