First, to any and all Christians who claim to believe the world is ending tomorrow, I don’t believe you for a second. I invite you to prove me wrong. Spend the rest of today donating every single penny and asset you have accumulated over you life to charity. Give up your house, your life savings, everything you own (maybe pack yourself a lunch) to the underprivileged. You won’t need it anyway, and the charity will look good on your resume when pining for positions in heaven. What’s the matter? Not enough faith? I thought not.
But before the second coming of christ (giggety giggety) we have another very important event: today is Draw Mohammad Day! Here is my 2011 contribution, a fine display of microsoft paint skills, if I do say so myself.
If you have no idea what this post is all about, here is a great vid from one of my youTube favs, Thunderf00t, explaining everything.

You are very brave (I am not being sarcastic either).
Some people would literally cut your head off for doing this.

Indeed. Showing that killing over a cartoon is ludicrous and those of us with a bit of sense won’t stand for it is what DMD is all about.
Last check there are 986 members and 1123 drawings of Mo at the Flickr group DrawMoDay2011 They can’t very well behead us all.

Great art and video, but I thought Armageddon was scheduled for AFTER the rapture! :-D

That’s what I like about you guys; you’re not afraid to challenge…Anything!
Keep up the good work.
As The Divine Poo-Bah of the Eternal Church of Stocking Salvation, Hanes, the most high Sock Gnome has vested in me the authority, to name as Cardinals, Mystro and The Arbourist. May you accept these appointments, and take them (not so) seriously.
Am I driving you crazy with this sh!t yet? :)

To Izaak,
You could very well be right.
I believe that the end of the world was prophesized (this time around) to be in October. The rapture starts it all off tomorrow, followed by 6 months of tribulation. I’m not sure if Armageddon refers to just the end when it all goes up in smoke or the entire process.
Anyway, thanks for the post and for liking my art :)

No, not driven crazy just yet. I just might hold onto that Cardinalship though. It could come in handy some day

Mystro ,
” Showing that killing over a cartoon is ludicrous and those of us with a bit of sense won’t stand for it is what DMD is all about. ”
That’s very funny . I wonder if that would work for the rest of us . You Canadian Atheists are very brave . You talk big behind the shield of American might which goes out and battles Islamic fundamentalists in their own swamps or deserts , if you will , to keep them from coming over here and cutting your throats . All the while you have nothing but contempt for that American power .
Meanwhile religious people Hindus , Jews , and Christians are on the front lines in Israel , Pakistan , Egypt , and Kashmir being murdered .
And by the way , most Christians have nothing to do with that idiot predicting the rapture .

American power ain’t so shite hot if you happen to be on the wrong end of it for any of a myriad of reasons (determined by the owner of the stick, of course); dangerous notions like wanting democracy or freedom, just ask Nicaragua or Vietnam about how magnanimous American Power is. Empathetic, rational people are critical of the abuse of power and rightly criticize *any* nation that abuses others and neglects their responsibilities.

Wow, even when you agree that what I’m criticising is wrong, your comments are still full of ludicrous misinformed bullshit accusations.
‘American might’ has absolutely nothing to do what I say or how I say it.
I don’t recall ever posting anything about my views on the US involvement overseas, so you’re charge of being contemptuous has no basis outside of your imagination.
And the array of christian craziness is so very vast, attempting to cover it all in one post would be an outrageous undertaking. Declaring that this one bit of foolishness doesn’t apply to you is as relevant as it is impressive. That is to say, not at all.

The Arbourist ,
Of all the super powers that have risen in recorded history , I argue the USA is the most moral and restrained in the use of it’s economic and military might . Trust me , you will miss us when we are gone . The world is a bad place .
The US is compared to the Roman Empire . I prefer the comparison to the Eastern Roman Empire that survived until 1453 . For a thousand years after the West fell back into the dark ages the Byzantines stood against every group of misfits that lost their way out of the Arabian homeland and Central Asia .
Not to worry , the US should last until your projected life span is done . After that , I have serious doubts whether your ideological heirs will be drawing cartoons .
Mystro ,
” I don’t recall ever posting anything about my views on the US involvement overseas, so you’re charge of being contemptuous has no basis outside of your imagination. ”
My most humble apologies sir . I lumped you in with others on this board .

It is as relevant as you not taking the credit for all Atheist tyrants who oppress their citizens .

I think Mystro wins an internet for having the patience and sanity to methodically attempt to persuade you away from this erroneous assumption(s).
Yet, Mr.Scott, you cling to it (and numerous other facile notions) despite the anvilicious evidence offered refuting this position. I’m mean really, you are merrily skipping down wrong street with your wrongedy-wrong pants flapping on your head and you seem to be just fine with that. And for the most part, I am good with your pants-on-head crazy bloviating because we do need exemplars we can use to illustrate how not to be rational, how not to argue and how not to appreciate the charitable application of fact.
That being said, I think you may need to change the frequency of crazy a bit because you are starting to broken record and need to move on to other topics where we can further appreciate your poignant, nuanced contributions.

I’m actually surprised any of you even bother with Alan Scott, especially after he admitted to me that he doesn’t read the responses offered to him. He did so in the post about high speed trains in California.

Good point.
I do hope though that through interaction, maybe some sense will seep through. I do tend to err on the side of optimism, but I will admit it does require a wilful ignorance and dutiful avoidance of argument to maintain some of the positions Mr.Scott takes.
It takes longer for some of us to tire of spitting into the wind that others I guess Bleatmop.. ;) Thank you for your patience and civility when it comes to sharing your thoughts here.

I tend to read responses that are direct and pointed . Congratulations , yours’ fit the template . I am the only one who posts here who does not join in the echo chamber of mutual back slapping .
Or to put it in simpler terms , how will you ever know that you could be mistaken if some one does not disagree with the consensus .
