Why all the hate on christianity? We get often get that question here at DWR. Here is a little sampling of why we take christianity and religion in general to task. Short version: religion is bad for you and those around you.
I’m feeling a bit under the weather, and brevity will be the theme of the upcoming posts, but then I stumbled on this gem of a video from the Living Dinosaur. Seeing that it would fit in nicely with today’s theme of how repulsive religion actually is please enjoy TLD’s take down of a popular creationist nutbar Casey Luskin. It’s long, but entirely worth your time.

…religion is bad for you and those around you.
Now, this according to you, or those who think like you? Or is this according to the general consensus?
I am sorry to have to ask, but I would hope that a broad declaration such as this one would at least have the validity of being supported by something other than bias.

I speak for myself. No agenda but my own when it comes to religion, that it happens to coincide with other rational thinkers, so be it.

Did you watch the video peanut? The validity of the statement is easily shown by the batshite insane nature of religious law. A couple of examples…
And that is just the first one. So here in the 21st century lets go enforcing the perfect word of god. Sound rational?
Most would say no. So if you’re not going to kill people for working on the sabbath then which other of god’s laws are you going to break and therefore incur his wrath while attempting to adhere to his laws?
Yah, I thought so you just picked the ones that make sense now and disregarded all the malicious, heinous horsepucky that the bible is chock-full of.
In essence, constructing man-made laws.
So why bother with all the mumbo-jumbo hocus-pocus if we are going to make our rules anyway?

Prepare the ramparts Arb! I sense a barrage of apologetics coming in to try and rationalize that it’s now ok to work on Sunday.

Or simply admit that the bible is irrational fiction and needs to put up in the same shelf beside the Greek, Egyptian and Norse Mythology. :)
Oh what a grand day that would be. :)

When it comes to the Disservice, I usually don’t take the ramparts down, getting things all unpacked and situated is such a bother. *g*
