In a word, “No”. As a tonic to what liberal porn-sick dudes would like you to believe, here is the long answer.
“Akin to art. LMAO
Porn is the antithesis of art. Porn destroys creative minds. Porn both reflects and creates a culture that stifles creativity and instead serves up (wholly unoriginal) female degradation on a platter, a truth that is immediately verifiable when we examine our culture. Porn teaches men to see women as fuck objects, and in our society, women are treated as fuck objects. Porn teaches people there is no rape. Our society treats rape as a joke. Porn teaches men that there is nothing you can do to a woman that will hurt her. Sexual violence, rape, BDSM, VAW, all thrive in our reality. Porn teaches women their sexuality is dirty, disgusting, and only relevant when found appealing by a man. Porn teaches women their bodies are inadequete, and surgeries to ‘correct’ female bodies abound.
There is nothing artistic about porn. Porn is capitalism + patriarchy, both of which are completely incapable of being creative except when dreaming up new ways to subjugate women, destroy cultures, and ruin lives—all to MAKE MONEY AND KEEP WOMEN IN SEXUAL SERVITUDE.
The fact that some people find themselves aroused by violent and sexually abusive imagery is NOT a positive benefit of pornography. It’s the opposite. The fact that you can type abuse into a search bar and be presented with a plethora of REAL WOMEN sustaining REAL INJURIES and pretend that it’s just masturbation, it’s just fantasy, is so fucking ignorant, and the cognitive dissonance it creates is the foundation of a society that can’t understand women beyond stereotypes. Men have learned and continue to teach that women are there to take care of them, as mother and whore, and women SUFFER.
Yes, porn is something that has an effect. But that effect is not ejaculation. It’s human trafficking, a global rape epidemic, and everyday suffering of human females everywhere. If that makes you come, you are a sick fuck.”

Although I agree that porn is not art, and that for the most part the pornography marketed at straight men is demeaning to women. But, does this demeaning aspect apply also to gay porn or to porn that is made by women for women?

I have previously thought on the counter examples you suggested and I feel that porn isn’t inherently demeaning. It is possible for there to be porn for everyone and no one gets harmed. That said, I figure that in reality 99.99% of porn is very demeaning and countless people do get harmed. Sort of an “in an ideal world” vs “in the real world” kind of thing. These are just my thoughts though, I could be way off.

Gay porn also features a binary relationship of sorts, again which can be considered corrosive and unhelpful when trying to find an unstigmatized version of what gay couples participate in.
As for porn made by women or is ‘female friendly’ – sure it may exist and be less toxic (or not at all), but that is not what the article is focusing on.

Well, this person is a bit one-sided and close-minded. Actually, porn can be artistic, and it’s not all brutal. There’s some really gentle, realistic stuff out there with fancy lighting, etc.
It’s still degrading, but the person you quoted is just blind and stupid to pretend like all porn is the same. There are many subtle varying degrees of evil.

And that would be the crux of the problem now then wouldn’t it? The idea of objectifying, that is dehumanizing another human being for a wank, is gross.

Speaking of rape, I have a problem with sexual promiscuity in general. Tell me if this statement blows your mind:
“Any man who is willing to have sex with you without making a long-term commitment (I.e. marriage) isn’t much different from a date rapist. … He might definitely not be as violent and brutal as an ordinary rapist, but they are both driven by the same selfish urge to use a woman’s body for sex and give very little concern for the long-term effect it might have on her.”

This is a little OT, but its late, so we can give it a go.
Rape occurs without consent. Thus, if either partner says no and is coerced into having sex then its rape.
Kinda of generalization on behalf of men. It is difficult to make statements that effectively describe *all* of men’s urges. Plus, women like having sex too, thus if both parties are willing it is all good. Marriage is no golden guarantee of happiness or being faithful.

Actually, even the more brutal porn can be artistic. That’s part of what makes it so exciting and addictive. It’s an enhanced version of real sex.
The stronger moral stance is to turn the eyes of judgment on the entire art world and question why normal “artists” still use nude models (“figure models” or “life models”), which I believe is morally reprehensible and just another form of pornography. Yet these “artists” live in denial and claim that what they do is not sexual nor degrading, when I think it is.

Seek professional help. The sooner the better.
There appears to be many conflicting notions behind this statement. I would suggest some reading into the gender binary to make more sense of where common feminist objections to pornography come from.

People who wear revealing clothing (who are usually women) is a form of pornography, by the way. It’s basically a mild, public sex show.

The thing that makes it into a sex show isn’t how much body is showing, it’s the sick fuck who’s getting all hot and bothered looking at it, who keeps on looking and getting all lathered up instead of saying, not my circus, not my monkeys and looking at something else – which is what mentally-healthy, mature adults do. Seriously get some help, the world does not revolve around your boner.
