You might also ask why an all-powerful god would use such a clumsy tool (a global flood using water not in existence) to exterminate all of the unwanted humans. Talk about a mess. When Noah et. all, found re-emerged land, there was nothing left alive but bacteria. All of the grasses, bushes, trees, fish, whales, etc. had all drowned and been dead for a year and subject to bacterial action. I wonder what Noah and all of the animals did for food for the years and years it took for everything to dry out and, possibly, seeds to reinstitute grass (for animal fodder) and trees to make building materials.
An all-powerful god had as options: the ability to make all of the unwanted humans be gone with just a thought (no harm to innocent animals, no damage to trees, grasses, etc.). Noah, et. al., get a fresh start with something to eat thrown in.
An all-powerful god could have given everyone unwanted a death experience but left them alive with the profound sense that they were being given a second chance. A real “born again” experience!
An all-powerful god … would not have made the mistake in the first fucking place.
