Much of the battleground that is destroying liberalism is all about language, about inverting meaning, about stealing central terms and repackaging them to mean the opposite. Like censoring to protect ‘free speech’. Like deplatforming, cancelling, and disinviting speakers in the name of ‘tolerance’, like altering ‘woman’ to whatever a man wants it to mean, like replacing merit with racial quotas and calling it ‘inclusion’. Sometimes when we’re too close to a hostile linguistic takeover (the Church has stolen everything it calls its own) don’t see the emerging patterns. And so a different word used from a distance, however, can reveal these. That’s why the term ‘baizuo’ helps us capture a meaningful description that reveals the performance aspect to the virtue signalling by the self-hating promoters of this idiotic and dysfunctional anti-liberal, highly regressive movement.

As an example, check out the ‘demonstration’ that inverts the ‘victim of violence’ to be the perpetrator while vilifying the victim here. But, of course, the virtue signallers know better.

Thank you for the link. I hope that the experience of that teacher is having is not common. I have not experienced the sort of thought control described in the article in my professional engagements as a teacher here in Alberta – thank goodness.
