At this point, I honestly think parents should start boycotting the pressures to send their kids off to “Big College”. The way, especially here in the U.S., the structure of how everything civics-related has turned into social nihilism: always goes back to the framework of American society being a giant nexus of everything from the top-on-down of corrupted special interests conditioning people to never upset the status-quo. College, and its bizzaro world of mocking free thought itself thesedays, IS *absolutely* hand-in-glove with serving that kind-of Orwellian order.
I am (sadly) amazed by, for instance, the way most people today (even as “late” as under 35!) CANNOT EVEN WRITE THEIR NAME IN SCRIPT. These are people whom often went to a four-year major university….and their handwriting, for example, is print like that of a 5 y.o. (by the time I remember being in public school in the third grade, we’re talking 1982 — not, lol, 1952!, we had to practice writing the alphabet in upper and lower case CURSIVE SCRIPT on ruled paper DAILY)! The idea now, that, someone with a $125,000 degree (to become, again, usually just another “plugged-in” tool to exploit all the corrupted junk of a dog-eat-dog society….for *profit*) CAN’T do that: *should* be a national embarrassment.
America is not, at its core, secular or “freedom loving” at all. Not. one. bit. EVERYTHING, no matter how stupid or self-destructive it gets, ALWAYS goes straight-back to the cult-worship trappings of “Puritan Inc.”. The system (here) would not know how to maintain itself otherwise (which, is why College has such an ego gentrification marketing complex attached to it….even though it has completely lost any relationship to guaranteeing intellectual maturity and ethical social skills).

I think parents should start looking at “Big College” pushing this worthlessness no different than engaged citizens would redress a subsidized corporation believing it’s unaccountable AND, BOYCOTT THEM. $125,000 degree thesedays doesn’t seem to guarantee intellectual maturity or social skills anyhow.

@ Cynthia Wolff – The rot has been intentionally inserted into our institutions of higher learning.
We need to support scholars and professors that have the courage to speak out against the ‘woke’ tide.
