Gender ideology is insidious. Read the entire essay here.
“Jeannette Cooper never imagined she’d lose custody of her child. The 44-year-old lifelong educator always considered herself a loving and responsible mother to her daughter Sophia. But when, at age 12, Sophia suddenly claimed to be transgender, Jeannette was skeptical. Sophia had never exhibited signs of gender dysphoria. In fact, Sophia exhibited many more traditionally feminine behaviors and preferences than Jeannette ever had. To Jeannette, it didn’t make sense.
But Sophia insisted, not only that she was trans, but that she was ‘unsafe’ around Jeannette. What followed was an almost Kafkaesque series of court proceedings and therapy sessions in which Jeannette’s ex-husband, lawyers, therapists and other individuals and institutions supposedly concerned with Sophia’s best interests worked to erode Jeannette’s most basic parenting rights. Nearly three years later, Jeannette can’t even visit with the daughter she loves. She lives less than ten minutes away, but can only communicate with Sophia by U.S. Mail. All because she insists that Sophia is a girl.
Finally ready to tell her story, Jeannette is speaking out to warn parents how gender ideology has become the latest weapon in parental custody battles, severing one of the most fundamental bonds in life under the guise of protecting children.”
People and institutions go to such lengths to embrace lies and move away from the reality we all share. :(

I have found people who support gender ideology practice something called ‘Not noticing’ when evidence from the real world conflicts with their beliefs. It’s difficult to comport taking children away from loving parents as ‘being kind’ and ‘protecting trans kids’ (assuming there even is such a category, ie, children who suddenly announce they have been ‘born in the wrong body’ and then finding out that every institution goes along with this ‘feeling’ as if this claim were true in fact). One would think the story of Sage would have been a bit of a red flag. But nope.
I suspect that in a decade (as more and more information from reality comes forward about the physical, mental, and emotional cost of transitioning punches people in the face, especially by those who finally understand they are supporting exactly what they are trying to avoid, namely part of an institutional movement of transing away the gay) it will be difficult to find anyone who admits they once believed this anti-same-sex-attraction medicalizaed path was ever reasonable or in the least bit kind rather than the horror and shit show it very often is. Yes, some parents and guardians like Sage’s grandparents really do lose custody if they dare to even QUESTION what’s going on (presuming these evil people find out about the collusion their kids have had with professions that are supposed to help children) and make the fatal mistake of trying to stand up against the bullying and medicalization and social mobbing that demands everyone MUST go along with the reality-altering practice or be treated as The Enemy. Yup, we will find out it never happened or, if it did, hardly anyone knew anything about it, but if they did they would NEVER have gone along.

Generally, I have found that most people haven’t a clue just how deeply captured is our law by gender ideology.
“Existing law governs the determination of child custody and visitation in contested proceedings and requires the court, for purposes of deciding custody, to determine the best interests of the child based on certain factors, including, among other things, the health, safety, and welfare of the child.
This bill, for purposes of this provision, would include a parent’s affirmation of the child’s gender identity or gender expression as part of the health, safety, and welfare of the child.”
Affirmation Only, baby. But only in the case of gender identity. And every single medical profession falls under this reality-denying ideology that the courts have foisted on all. Affirm, affirm affirm. What’s being affirmed? Feelings of discomfort. And the cause is ALWAYS gender dysphoria that then presents through an assortment of previously stand-alone comorbidity like anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, autism, eating disorders, yada, yada, yada. Who cares that over 85% of all such kids magically lose their so-called gender dysphoria by age 20… simply by going THROUGH puberty rather than trying to AROUND it. Nope. Not good enough. We need to medicalize these feelings and AFFIRM them and have the law impose it on everyone.
Gender ideology is a travesty of stupidity and ignorance and reality-denying faith of the extreme religious kind to go along with this massive social charade.
