One of the features of partisan thinking is answering a question with a response meant to incriminate the other side, rather than addressing the substance of the question. Watch and see it on display not once, but several times – having an honest conversation with someone like this is quite frustrating.

This a typical trope asking ‘who’ decides in order to create a false equivalency between what is true and what is not. It’s the wrong question.
The right question is ‘what’ decides. And this is where a preponderance of evidence from reality, arbitrated by reality about reality, should hold greater sway in establishing likelihood than evidence-lacking beliefs. These are not equivalent.
Merit should outweigh beliefs. Some beliefs have more merit from reality than beliefs that do not.
