Hey howdy Ladies and Gentlemen!
Last weekend, my laptop decided it would take some theatre improv classes and began it’s stage life impersonating an unresponsive electronic brick. I did research as to how to inspire bricked laptops – as it turns out – sometimes the problem is that the battery has managed to quietly commit seppuku. The distress caused by the battery’s poor choices makes laptops so sad that often commiserate the sorrowful situtation by also ceasing to function.
Old battery removed, laptop works great while plugged in. New battery on the way.
TL;DR – We’re back in business here at DWR and apologies for the absence.

Wait, wait, you have the right to repair? I can hear the corporate howling now! (There is a laptop (forgot the name) which is not only repairable but upgradable (memory, processor, storage, etc.) And I haven’t seen the normal horde of copy cats as the powers that be so do not want that. They want us to discard and buy new over and over and over (I now have four laptops, and three tablets, only two of which are used.)

I hope I do. I also have old tech laying around. I really need to get around to taking out the HDD’s and destroying them.

Here in Chicago we have an electronic waste disposal facility but from what I have seen, there is no effect electronics recycling anywhere.
