“Alberta’s premier leads a party whose most active members almost unanimously want the province to refuse to house trans women in women’s prisons, and require schools to tell parents if their children want to secretly change their pronouns, as New Brunswick and Saskatchewan have controversially done.
United Conservative Party members also voted unanimously at their convention to eradicate diversity and inclusion offices at universities and colleges, ban safe drug consumption sites, and prohibit electronic vote tabulators — on suspicion that election tampering may happen (or already has).”
The Alberta UCP is fighting back against the activist Left in our institutions. Let’s hope that these policy directions are not diluted once they hit cabinet. 12:58 in the video where Smith defends and advocates for parental rights.
Sorry for the incovenience of having to go to youtube to watch the happenings at the Oxford Union. It was quite a raucous affair.
Compare and contrast with the lecture at Cambridge where students as opposed to radicals came out and a productive mostly civil debate and conversation resulted.
The activist Left wants more of Oxford and less of Cambridge. I implore everyone watching to be more like Cambridge and respect others and their opinions while debating the merits of the arguments at hand.

Imagine being reported for misconduct for saying that :”If a woman cannot stand in a public place and say ‘men cannot be women’, then we do not have women’s rights at all.”. I cannot believe the college even entertained the thought of sanctioning Kelvin Wright. The woke rot has tunneled deep into our institutions. :/
“And then there’s Kelvin Wright, an army surgeon who shared a quote from me on his personal Facebook page: “If women cannot stand in a public place and say ‘men cannot be women’, then we do not have women’s rights at all.” He was reported by a junior colleague for misconduct, and though he’s recently been cleared of wrongdoing he found the investigation so “hellish” that he has left the service.

Why all this matters isn’t because it’s unfair to me, although it is. It’s because what I’m trying to shout from the rooftops is that women’s rights are being destroyed in the name of a parody of social justice; that politics and policymaking are turning towards ideology and away from evidence; and above all that a socio-medical scandal is being played out on the bodies of children.”
The evidence for gender affirming care and transitioning is very weak at best.
Trans rights activists have argued that trans people have a right to be recognised as their preferred gender in both the private and public spheres and that the law should protect this right.
Gender critical groups, however, claim that efforts to undermine single sex spaces put women’s safety at risk while attempts to police language on this issue constitute a threat freedom of speech.
This panel event disentangled this debate by giving speakers from both sides the opportunity to present their case for whether transgender ideology is necessary outgrowth of liberal values, or a threat to them.
