Edward Current makes me laugh. I enjoy this videos and especially the comment sections where people routinely miss the satire and respond as if EC was playing what he says utterly straight. But enough! Beware god-mockers, its double down time in the torture for eternity sweepstakes.

The Tooth Fairy did okay by me financially. My teeth fetched top dollar, when a dollar was worth a dollar . Santa used to kiss Mom by the Christmas tree. I think he was my real Dad . I’m almost as fat now as he was .

No it is not horrible . I survived two separate head on car collisions a few years back . I had no control over how those turned out . I have survived long enough to raise up two kids, when close relatives younger than me have contracted cancers and brain tumors . I have no control that I was more fortunate than them .

As opposed to Obamabots who have no self responsibility because Uncle Sam or Uncle Barak will still feed, cloth, and doctor them no matter how stupid they are .

He gives you brains, strength, and opportunities. He gives no guarantees. It is up to you to make the most of your circumstances. I know people retired and on disability who sit around and complain about everything, do very little for themselves and nothing for others . The ones with the ambition to get to the polls and actually vote, do not vote Republican.
I also know people who are more severely disabled, who are wearing out their electric wheel chairs, going out meeting people, volunteering, and constantly pushing the physical limits of their lives. Funny, they do not tend to be raging Atheists .
I am a fan of Benjamin Franklin and his capitalist philosophies, so clearly stated in Poor Richards Almanac. These were written to instruct the poor and lower middle classes of colonial America. I cannot find any big government welfare advice there .

The nostalgia for the bitter times of revolutionary America is somewhat confounding. The poor and middle classes, the majority of people already worked hard and were certainly not lazy (in general). Extolling them to work harder was not exactly a flash of genius.

It’s worse than that . In the Book of Job, God allows the devil to kill Job’s entire family and ruin him, all on a bet.
What is the difference between your belief and mine? You glorify science on your board. Man invented science . Man is arguably the most powerful creature that has ever existed . Yet even you must admit that man is not all powerful. One day he will go extinct.
I can go out my front door and choose to crush a bug on the sidewalk with my big foot. I am a God to the bug . You and I , as humans are the most powerful creatures on earth, yet we are bugs waiting for some big foot to make us a stain on the sidewalk.
You choose to believe that the guy with the big shoes is a brainless idiot . You can call him luck, chance, or fate . That big foot stepping on you might be a stroke, or an asteroid. If it is an asteroid you and your science are no more powerful than the dinosaurs were .
I choose to believe that Mr. big shoes is a benevolent God who has chosen not to flatten me yet . One day he will. Why or when I won’t know . I can hope to wake up either in Heaven or in the eighth circle of hell . You on the other hand will have to wait billions of years until the universe stops expanding, collapses, has another big bang, and recreates you. I am not that patient .

A minor point of correction . Poor Richard’s Almanac was pre Revolutionary . Great Britain was the overtaxing Barak Obama Central authority of the time . If you read Franklin’s autobiography you will find that he rose to wealth following his own advice . Much of it he leaned the hard way .
It’s true that some lower classes were quite virtuous. Yet Franklin found that often many remained trapped in their class because of their vices . He sought to help them. We Conservatives are happy to follow in his big footsteps .
