Once again reality and mainstream political opinion are at odds with each other.

Prompted by this article I was surprised to see that the Edmonton Journal has twice been in the tank for Conservatives, both provincially and federally.
Oh well, no matter. What does, in my opinion, is that the next leader in both the US and Canada are going to be playing a much bigger role internationally that they have in the past, and from that perspective the only candidate with a chance up here is Harper, like it or not.
Trudeau is a kid, and Mulcair is a clown. Both would get their asses handed to them on the international stage regarding anything to do with economics or defense, and let’s face it – unless you have a VERY short memory the Liberals are easily just as corrupt as the Conservatives could ever be.
The US example with Obama shows what a charismatic yet inexperienced leader on the world stage who is super-soft on defense and has no backbone for deal-making can get you.
To me it will be better to stay with someone experienced than switch horses, and instead just push for more accountability and transparency through a strong opposition. Doesn’t mean I think Harper will win (haven’t been following the polls close enough), but as far as my vote choice goes I have what I believe are my pragmatic reasons as to why.

Vern – The secret lies in the ownership of the papers. It’s no coincidence that Postmedia is covered in blue.

VR Kaine, the corporate lackey, is at it again with all the talking points: “the kid”, Obama bashing, oh so frightening to change leadership( however bad), “they do it too” – everything but the “mushroom cloud”.

@Bob,
When it goes against your views they’re “talking points” and when it’s criticism against someone you like it’s “bashing”? Tsk tsk. Justin Trudeau is very young with no experience, hence “a kid” in the political game.
What’s he going do to, have another celebrity boxing match to try and get respect internationally?
As for Obama’s performance on the international stage, he flat out sucks. 5 Taliban to get 1 traitor out of jail (fact) vs. giving Iran $153b and leaving four Americans in jail? (fact) I’m sure that’s your kind of hero! Russia thinks he’s a joke, so does the EU, so does Israel meaning he pretty much is inept on the world stage. Btw, I actually supported Obama in 2008 w/ both ACA and the taking out of Bin Laden.
Oh, and while we’re at it – please let me know what corporation I’m supposedly serving here according to you. Any clue? You haven’t one because there isn’t one, yet once again a liberal does the exact same thing (name call) that they whine about conservatives doing.
