It’s quite remarkable how something that should be positive has found a regressive vein. Gotta’ give it to humans: we can effectively fuck everything.

It is quite disturbing isn’t it. For me it is a real full circle experience. I was all over the the atheism plus movement, but then they started spouting some pretty crazy shit that you couldn’t disagree without being ‘called out’ on.
It seemed like ideological purity was more important than material fact and the shared reality we all have to live in.
I was reading elsewhere and it really stuck with me is how to order one’s personal allegiances. Being polite and nice are good qualities, but shouldn’t get in the way of being committed to the Truth.
Objective truth is, admittedly, a large can of worms, but jebus, going the not hurting feelings route is profoundly fucking up society.
