How are you feeling?
I follow some female morticians on YouTube. I was watching one yesterday, she said that the grieving process really doesn’t begin until about 2 weeks after the death of a loved one, that the first 2 weeks is usually just shock and pain.
That sounds right to me. It gets worse before it gets better.
But it does get better.

Well, life keeps going on so I’m getting caught up in that. But when I get some downtime I still feel the loss. How keenly, it depends on the circumstance.
The Vet and staff sent their condolences, along with imprints of Shadow’s paws. That brought everything back… but on the other side choir is helping me get through things as well, creating music with a bunch of supportive, friendly people really helps.

The Paw Prints! Those are so valuable. I have 9 urns, containing the ashes of 9 dogs, and I have 8 paw prints.
My beagle died at home. On Christmas day. 2018. While I have his ashes, they were unable to get a print.
It’s a long story, I will not bore you, but my husband and I fostered dogs for a rescue for a long time. We kept the ones no one wanted. And they all lived long lives. And for years, everyone was healthy and happy.
And then they all got old, all at one time. I lost 4 the first year they started passing. Which was 2014.
I am an agnostic, and I lean heavily atheist, but I hold out for an afterlife. Because of my dogs.

I wasn’t finished, lol, sausage fingers.
Don’t rush to look at this, it’s pretty emotional, but when you are ready, I thought you might enjoy this as much as I did……….
