One psychologists appraisal of the harms being done based on gender affirming medical-woo.
“WPATH Members Causing Surgical Harm. p28-29 (my bold) “As well, there is evidence in the files of members doing surgical harm to severely mentally ill patients. In an undated message thread, a therapist expresses concern about referring her “trans clients with serious mental illness” for surgery due to difficulty in predicting their future stability, “in particular, given the extensive recovery period and ‘postnatal’ care required for vaginoplasty.”
“A California marriage and family therapist replied, saying it depends on many factors, such as how much support the mentally ill person has, whether they have a safe place to recover, and whether or not they understand instructions such as “dilate, wash, monitor.” She added that in the last 15 years, she had only declined to write one referral letter, and that was mainly because “the person evaluated was in active psychosis and hallucinated during the assessment session.” “Other than that – nothing – everyone got their assessment letter, insurance approval, and are living (presumably) happily ever after,” said the therapist, who has referred for genital surgery people diagnosed with major depressive disorder, c-PTSD, and who are HOMELESS.
“Here, the therapist’s use of the word “presumably,” like the previous surgeon’s “that I am aware of,” indicates no systematic follow-up of patients, which would be reasonable to expect from a surgeon who knows he or she is doing something risky, invasive and experimental. Without follow-up, there is no way to know whether the severely mentally ill person was able to cope with the arduous 2+ hours a day of post-op dilation, the long recovery period, and the lifelong impact of the surgery on the patient’s physical health and ability to form intimate relationships.
“WPATH-affiliated surgeons do not appear to have even the slightest curiosity about the outcome for such patients. While the therapist was right to be concerned about the level of support patients have during the immediate post-op period, her contribution demonstrates the myopic thinking of gender-affirming healthcare providers. “WPATH members typically focus on short-term patient satisfaction from the drastic, life-altering interventions they endorse and appear to have little concern for how the patient will fare in 20, 30, or 40 years.”

Dr P says: 1. That WPATH members are even considering ‘GA’ care for people with serious mental illness shows the complete moral and regulatory vacuum in this area.
2. A person with any active mental health problem should not be referred for major, experimental life-altering surgery.
3. It is unconscionable that therapists have so profoundly lost their way.
4. These therapists are simply rubber-stamping any patient request. They are not conducting any type of mental health evaluation or assessment.
5. Who is regulating their practice? And that of the surgeons? Is anyone being regulated?
6. Maybe the homeless person needed somewhere to live, not to have his penis cut off? Just saying.

WPATH (World Professional Association for Transgender Health) is an activist organization anyone can join and not a medical body. Yet medical bodies around the world reference WPATH’s activist Standards of Care v8 (SOC8) as the ‘evidence-based’ foundation for their ongoing ‘gender care’ policies and treatments. This organization’s SOC8 ‘medical’ advice when acted upon is an unfolding travesty that – with aid and promotion from gender activists/believers – reveals ongoing life-altering medical experimentation on children… in the name of being ‘kind’. It’s really the banality of evil writ large.

We know that.
Now the pols and low information crowd has to catch up – the sooner the better.

Hard to ‘catch up’ when the entire education system is premised on an illiberal framework that first vilifies and condemns such ‘catching up’ (even questioning) as a moral/ethical/social failing, and then criminalizes such rational behaviour.
In fact, I suspect it is the ‘low information’ crowd who will demand their ‘higher information’/post secondary ideologues stop attacking reality and expecting everyone to go along with the idiocy that they continue to double down on promoting and instituting and legalizing.
I also think the bulk of invertebrate pols will do as they always do: lead from the rear.

To my point above: just look at the Irish referenda. These were not defeated by the pols or the institutions of higher learning or the media or the cultural elite; about 2:1 the common person said, “Enough with the bullshit and screwing with the language.” And of course no one could have possibly seen this coming (Trump election, anyone?). I guess Ireland – like voters everywhere who go against narrative in the west these days – must now be considered full of bigots and morons because they didn’t play along.

Tough day for the Arborist here. Her fellow traveller in the swamps of right wing hate, DeSantis, suffers a legal blow in Florida:
“If Florida Governor Ron DeSantis had a signature policy, it was “Don’t Say Gay.” The law, which prohibited discussion of sexual orientation or gender identity in schools, and was interpreted more broadly to remove LGBTQ books and students’ Pride flags from classrooms, burnished the governor’s national profile as he launched his failed run at the White House. His staff were so committed to defending the law, they launched conspiracy theories accusing anyone who opposed it of being “groomers”—i.e., sexual predators. Now, two years after it was signed, a courtroom settlement has determined that students and teachers are allowed to talk about sexual orientation and gender identity after all. This result, advocates involved in the suit say, has “successfully dismantled the most harmful impacts of the law.”
Is it possible that the DeSantis’s reign of terror on queer and trans Floridians is coming apart? While the DeSantis administration immediately issued a press release calling the settlement a “win,” in that the law has not been struck down entirely, there’s no denying that its scope is now severely curtailed; the settlement stipulates that only formal instruction of gender and sexuality has been restricted. And the anti-queer and anti-trans lawmakers in the Florida state legislature should see this as a double rebuke: When their session closed last week, 21 of the 22 anti-LGBTQ bills they had proposed were effectively dead.”

The truth is always working to come to light. The path to seeing it finally out in the open is never a straight line. Without DeSantis’s actions, Danielle Smith would have never been able to table the legislation to stop the mutilation of children here in Alberta. Am I displeased that profoundly destabilizing materials for children might once again be available in schools in Florida?
Of course, but overall we are further along the journey toward the truth being out in the open and recognized for what it is.

Agreed.
The latest Radio Canada documentary though brings me some hope. The embargo on truth about the dangers of GAC from the CANADIAN media has been broken. https://ici.radio-canada.ca/recit-numerique/8610/transition-genre-testoterone-choix-dysphorie-sante-mentale

Yes, I saw that. 8 minutes to get the necessary letter to start the whole medicalization of a girl’s life. I still can’t get over some people think this is ‘kind’. Rarely do I confuse ‘travesty’ or ‘atrocity’ with ‘kindness’. I almost sure they are not synonyms even in the most tortured of woke language.
