It is quite astounding that many people who claim to be “Queer” actually have no idea what the term actually means, or when asked, be able to define it for themselves.
Definitional clarity is important, it allows for honest conversation and the exchange of ideas.

The above, is quoted from David Halperin, one of the founders of Queer Theory. This isn’t an uncharitable “conservative” definition, but rather straight from the one of the preeminent queer theorist’s mouth.
So, what I suspect is that many people just are part of the “fringe” of the queer cult, and want to identify with the trapping of “queerness” but don’t actually have a clue as to what actually being “queer” means.

Yet again, another Trojan Horse term often tethered to, or used in place of, gay-lesbian-bisexual. For cover. For protection. This stealth pretending to be what it is not is the root lie, because it’s actually a chosen negative identity that is always and permanently in opposition to norms and aimed to break any and all boundaries. Including age appropriate sex. As is the problem throughout gender ideology, the queer identity offers intellectual protection and defence for paedophilia while identity politics of being ‘queer’ offers protection for paedophiles.

There are dire consequences for believing in identities.
The protection of using ‘queer’ identity as a gender identity is right there is legislation and law because ‘gender’ has been conflated to be synonymous with biological ‘sex’ (an inherited trait) and gender identity to be conflated with sexual attraction (also an inherited trait): but now – because of ‘progressive’ ideology – both gender identity and gender expression are now a legally ‘protected’ class like biological sex: it is illegal to discriminate against anyone on this basis (because it is supposedly synonymous with being another inherited trait!). This is the Great Lie, and gender ‘fluidity’ demonstrates it is an above-the-neck choice and not a biological trait.
This is why gender identity – like everything involved in ‘progressive’ identity ideology – is advanced not by reason or fairness or reality but by stealth. Nobody ever voted on gender inclusion in rights and freedoms. This conflated term has been inserted by people who have been fooled into thinking the terms are synonymous with their inherited relatives. But the ideology these Trojan Horse terms cover is self-defeating when the cover comes off because none of them are internally coherent. Reality shows us these terms do not map to reality. They map to an incoherent ideology that is imposed on and in conflict with reality. Gender is not equivalent to sex. Identity is not equivalent to an inherited biological trait that should not be used to discriminate. Yet it receives equivalent legal cover.
The crowning achievement by the ideologues of this reality-denying ideology is to fool most people into advocating for it… people believing themselves to be virtuous supporting people ‘born this way’ while advocating for acceptance of ‘born in the wrong body’. It cannot be both ways.
And this why those who believe it means mean one thing when it is in both action and deed the opposite have been fooled. Badly fooled. Unbelievably fooled. And so the foolishness has all of our institutions pretending it is perfectly normal for men to pretend they can be women (and push women and their protected class rights aside), that it is perfectly normal for such men to present themselves in drag to children and read a ‘story’ to them in every public library. And our laws allow that anyone who dares to raise an issue about these abnormal practices are suddenly committing a ‘hate’ crime, a discriminatory act against an inherited trait, you see, and are to be considered bigots and punished as such because of this ‘discrimination’. Heads, the ‘progressive’ ideology wins; tails, critics lose.
No religious belief can compare to the level of institutional and legal capture this stealth ideology based wholly on belief has successfully achieved. This ideology is the fentanyl version of the religious opiate being swallowed by the people.
