Other news media are now commenting on the insular nature of American media. Douglas Murray remarks about the obfuscation of language in the middle segment, rightly observing that the supposed left wing media in the US is busy erasing the term ‘woman’ from its vocabulary.
Hint – There is no liberation value to removing the category female people use to describe themselves.
Hopefully this signals the beginning of the end of the pervaisiveness of gender ideology in the UK – a feat we need to replicate here in Canada ASAP.
“They [Stonewall] didn’t address any of the very serious questions raised by Nolan: questions about Stonewall’s undue influence inside and outside government, its misrepresentation of the law, its displacement of the law with its own interpretation of it (or hope for it) and its ability (through OfCom in particular) to effectively mark its own homework.
Stonewall has tried to pretend that it is above answering these very significant questions. But it is not. One clip from Nolan demonstrates this above all. It’s with Ben Cohen, the founder and Chief Executive of Pink News. The legacy online gay publication likes to act as a sort of ideological enforcer for Stonewall, pursuing their perceived opponents and otherwise engaging in activism in the guise of journalism. They attend the same black tie dinners and Downing Street receptions.
But worth the price of listening to the Nolan show alone is the moment in episode three when Nolan asks Cohen to define a couple of the gender-bollocks terms that Stonewall and others expect everyone in the UK, including BBC presenters like Nolan to be able to understand and all those “Diversity Champions” out there. What is “two-spirit?” Nolan asks Cohen. Cohen cannot explain. What about “genderqueer”? Again Cohen is stumped. While undeniably funny, this moment also represents something very serious in Stonewall’s wider collapse.
It is one thing that a group should be caught out in a dodgy money-making scheme. It is another that people should be seeing through their influence-peddling operations. Yet it is far worse when a clerical class cannot explain the doctrines of their own faith. A faith they have been busy trying to spew out across the whole of society, but which is so baseless, that even the priestly class doesn’t know what they are talking about. It is the end of the faith.”
This is what it looks like to take a stand for decency, transparency and democratic values in society. Douglas Murray offers his services to defend one of his intellectual foes, because her safety and freedom are being placed in jeopardy by violent males (see trans activists).
“To Todd’s credit, her thinking about trans matters means she has emerged as one of a growing number of women who are realising that trans rights and women’s rights do not necessarily rub along in the most peaceful manner. In fact, they grind rather horribly against one another in certain places. Like some religions, you might say.
Prominent among the people noticing this are feminists like Todd who have spent their whole lives extolling all the correct views before stumbling upon trans. So now they hire meeting halls and book seminar rooms up and down the country to crawl towards truths that everyone else already knew. Some among their number — and Todd would appear to be among these — incur the wrath of that segment of the trans lobby which seems to think the best way to make everyone believe you are a lady is to go around threatening to punch people in the face if they refuse to call you ‘Miss’.
Todd’s story has come to national attention because it was announced that she had received threats on social media which meant she now required physical protection from trans activists. Of course, claiming that you have received threats on social media is one of the 21st century’s easiest short-circuiting hacks for privileging your own opinions, and personally I would treat the need for anti-trans protection with a pinch of salt. There have been some very ugly and unpleasant trans protests outside women’s meetings in recent years and the police have on occasion permitted a level of intimidation that is wholly unacceptable. Yet despite occasional violence, we probably shouldn’t overstate the risk of trans terror.
Still the development is an undeniably sinister one. ‘We all have to defend the right of people to have freedom of speech and freedom of debate,’ Todd said last week, adding she and her employers did not want to wait and see if she’d get ‘hit in the face’. And so at present two male staff members apparently arrive at lectures before Todd in order to ‘diffuse’ any negative reactions.”
