Nope. The temporary and interim contracts are always the first to go when there are cutbacks in the system.

Thanks Bleat, it sucks, but on the upside there is substitute teaching available and I happen to know a few people at the school I was teaching they’ll call me when they need a sub :) Subbing sucks, but it does have its own rewards as well.

Sorry to hear it, Arb. I’m sure you bring a lot to your classroom, and I hope you find something soon. Perhaps its time to start a book over the summer?

Still have the second job Vern, I’m all good. Plus remember this is socialist Canada ( :) ) and supports, if necessary are in place. The good thing is that I can substitute teach in the next school year and still tend to my obligations.

Thanks Vern, I do what I can for my students. :)

Haha – ya, SO socialist it is. ;) Glad to hear job #2 is still around. Still mean it about the book, though!

Suggestions for a topic? I mean, I have a few thoughts on political issues and what not, but then everyone is writing about politics these days. I will probably write a book after I do my thesis. It all depends on how things go next year and if I have the academics to get into grad school and whot not.
How about you Vern? I do look forward to your next work on the ethics of pragmatism.

“The Ethics of Pragmatism”?! Way too many syllables for me just in the title alone, Arb! Plus I don’t think I have a clue re: anything on the subject matter (do I?) I was thinking more along the lines of “Horton Hears a Who”. ;)
As for topics for you, dunno. Sure, everyone’s doing politics but everyone’s also doing business – just a matter of carving out the right niche and I’m sure you could find it.
