Have seen this before, but glad I watched it again. Around the 5 minute marker, he nails it regarding what the truth doesn’t require.

From the point of view of the survival of our species, a “ridiculous claim” that promotes social cohesion, stability, peace of mind, and happiness is not so ridiculous.
Maybe it’s a necessary step in our evolution, to be replaced by a less ridiculous idea as we progress in our development, individually and collectively.

Viewed from an evolutionary standpoint, I agree there is a point to be made.
Do you think though that it may be a argument harder to defend as time passes and the means and instruments that we use to describe the universe become more accurate?
Science is pulling us along, but the viral nature of religiosity is proving to be a strong count weight to many areas of progress.
The ridiculous claim also promotes sectarianism, persecution, and misery – it is a tough topic to evaluate. :/
