I agree. I’m always surprised (becoming markedly less a time goes on though…) at the toxic nature of the reactions elicited by projects that are perceived to be infringing upon the cherished status quote.
If there is a criticism to be made, address the argument(s)and show why they are wrong. Death and rape threats serve no purpose other than to stifle dissent and ensure compliance – and if you have to defend your system with threats of violence, how valid is the system in the first place?
