Did you need a comprehensive plan on how to overwhelm the heath care system? Burn out the doctors and Nurses? Just take the Jason Kenny’s Alberta Personal Responsibility Plan to heart. Our ideologically blinded Premier has condemned Alberta to a this entirely avoidable health care meltdown.
Most certainly personal responsibility is important and those Albertans who do the personally responsible thing are doing it. They social distance, they wear a mask, and avoid other people. Not surprisingly though, not everyone in the province fucking gets the fact that we are still in a pandemic (the most dangerous second wave, no less) and are royally fucking things up.
It is for these people we need the Public health orders and the stringent rules.
But no, Jason Kenny, has deferred to his neoliberal ‘populist’ base rather that epidemiological science – and here were are – healthcare staff burnt out, hospitals overloading, and now field hospitals to be staffed by non medical professionals to warehouse the dying.
As the doctor says – The Refrigerator trucks are next.

Sure, Kenny is a political creature serving his own ambition first and business before people second, but let’s be absolutely clear here: this abysmal situation has been ALLOWED to happen by the province’s Chief Medical Officer Doctor Deena Hinshaw. She is PERSONALLY responsible for failing to exercise her professional responsibilities, failed to implement public medical orders known to be necessary and effective to reduce the harm caused by political vermin like Kenny. This is what happens when a public health doctor, whose powers are legislated to be immune from such political interference, fails to put the public interest above her own, fails to override political agendas, fails to provide necessary leadership, and succumbs to the allure of having her cake and eating it, too. She should be disbarred for the disgrace she has brought to the lives of so many Albertans in her mewling and equivocating ‘expertise’ shaped by the vermin. Disgrace and shame, your name is Hinshaw.

There is much blame to go around. I’d like to hear Dr.Hinshaw’s unvarnished thoughts before they go through the political process. I knew what we were getting into with Kenny, but I would like to give Hinshaw the benefit of the doubt.

The medical people I’ve spoken to from Alberta are saying it has taken intention to avoid NECESSARY measures, that the dire medical situation has been known to be coming for WEEKS now, that the government has been remiss and that this situation has been allowed to come about by no action taken by, other than ‘advice’ given, the Chief Medical Officer. All of this today, all this handwringing and ‘dialogue-ing’ with hospital administrators, is simply a nod for damage control to the media, but every single medical person tells me every single medical person sees the tidal wave and every single person has seen it coming for weeks, yet the ONE person legislated to be in just this situation but empowered to do the responsible thing and override the deadly political agenda, the one who can actually DO something concretely about reducing its severity, has singlehandedly failed to act. And that person IS the CMO. There is no excuse for having failed so spectacularly, no damage control and spin and excuse that Hinshaw can raise based on sound medical reasons and supposed ‘expertise’ she supposedly possesses to hold the position, when she has failed to do her medical duty… and continues to fail each day to do her medical duty. She is, in fact, not just an impediment to effective public health in that role but an enabler of the deadly political agenda we see hard at work.

The new religion in Western cultures is Inverted Totalitarianism as predicted by Sheldon Wolin and described by Chris Hedges. We’re now in bible study class “learning” the chapter on health care.

New religion? Good grief. Inverted totalitarianism would be unfettered, absolute libertarianism. That’s not the case, is it?
What Wolin describes is a hodge-podge collection of group names and conspiracy theory buzzwords and a stealth current under it all designed and implemented by a unnamed but shady group economic bosses bent on obtaining a global hegemony. All of this is absolutely true… unless one introduces reality to arbitrate each of these claims in turn. That is when the house of cards Wolin has built out of words simply collapses. But keep on believing it is the case because, well, that’s exactly what religion extolls as a virtue: belief… by disregarding anything reality has to say in the matter.
