Ah, to be a fragile bulb in a society filled to the brim with hammers. Let’s go on a adventure in the very difficult and challenging life of Julia Wright. Her experiences are… illuminating.
“Last year, I attended a conference where everyone wore name tags. I had proudly and visibly written “they/them” below my name.
When I helped a special guest presenter set up, they asked to see my tag. But while remembering my name, the presenter repeatedly referred to me as “she.”
My head started spinning and I had an overwhelming urge to run to the washroom and throw up. I wanted to interrupt them and tell them to stop misgendering me. But I had no idea what their views on non-binary people were and I worried about seeming rude.”
Having you head spin for someone correctly deduce your sex and use the correct sex based pronoun seems like it would be fairly common place occurrence. Julia must have a difficult time in the real world.
“So I sat through the presenter’s instructions as my stomach turned. Once the workshop was underway, I ran to the washroom where I reassured myself that my feelings were valid, even if the presenter didn’t misgender me on purpose.”
Just imagine the mental overhead you have to keep going to keep this sort of patina up and running. I’m getting tired just thinking about it.
“While I was assigned female at birth and grew up being referred to as a girl, the label never felt right. Throughout my childhood, I remember feeling frustration deep in my stomach when I was called a girl, but I never had the words to explain why.
Then when I was around 12, I started reading up on gender identity. I learned what the word non-binary meant and that some people use they/them pronouns.
I felt drawn to these concepts, but I didn’t look like most non-binary people I saw on TV shows and read about in novels.”
For the record folks, the concept of ‘non-binary’ is couched heavily in the idea that we all have a mystical ‘gender identity’ that is undetectable, present *before* birth, and infinitely malleable. It’s also 100 percent horsepucky.
“Sure, I didn’t like wearing makeup or painting my nails, but I also didn’t wear exclusively gender-neutral clothing or want to change my stereotypically feminine name.
But as I met others like me, I realized that always looking gender-neutral was not a prerequisite for identifying as non-binary, just as always looking feminine is not a requirement to identify as a woman. Now as a 19-year-old student living in Montreal, that realization has only grown stronger.”
Apparently all it takes to ‘identify’ as a woman is nail polish and how you dress. This is a prime example of why gender identity is a toxic feature of society. Gender identity takes sex stereotypes and somehow makes those stereotypes the qualifying features of being a man or woman. It is such an inherently regressive notion. Consider the alternative.
Everyone is born either male or female and that biological fact remains true regardless of how you happen to feel about it. However, any person can learn/craft a personality that best works for them adopting whichever mannerisms they are comfortable with. Adopting the stereotypes associated with either sex though, *doesn’t* make you that sex. For example, a man that decides that he likes wearing skirts is simply that, a man who chooses to wear typically female clothing. That is awesome if it works for him and he’s comfortable with it. What it doesn’t do is make him female in any way.
“I felt a wave of relief wash over me when I told my parents I was non-binary in the summer of 2021. They reacted positively, saying they loved me and were proud to be my parents.
At that point, I had been thinking about my pronouns daily for over two years. And I still am.
I am privileged that most people to whom I’ve disclosed my identity have been very welcoming and respectful. I believe this is largely because we as a society are talking more — whether that be in the classroom, in the media or at the dinner table — about what it means to identify as neither a man nor a woman.
I’m grateful for these discussions. But most people I meet still assume I am a woman and use she/her pronouns — oftentimes even after I’ve corrected them.”
Privileged indeed. People assume you are a woman because you are still a female regardless of what sort of gender-drivel you happen to spout.
“Mentioning my pronouns again can be scary. If they don’t respect my pronouns, does that mean they think being non-binary isn’t valid? Will they not want to be friends with me anymore? Will they treat me differently at work? These feelings double when the person is in a position of power.
At one dinner, a person shared their opinion that non-binary people were an “epidemic” that had “exploded” in recent years. I felt like I was a disease.”
Again, observe the mental overhead required to keep the pronoun facade going. Also, you cede so much power to others for your mental well being. It is a prescription for feeling vulnerable 24/7.
“These types of interactions with co-workers, professors and fellow students run through my head at night before I fall asleep. What can I do to get people to understand?
I know these ideas are new for many people, and I try to advocate for non-binary people in my daily life. In my final year of high school in Nova Scotia, I co-authored a proposal to a Girl Guides of Canada’s Nova Scotian council to create a more inclusive environment for non-binary youth.”
Yikes! Apparently once you are in the gender cult, proselytizing is a mandatory activity. You wouldn’t want to live the fragile lifestyle alone.
“Our report contained practical recommendations to help these youth feel more welcome in the organization, and I was happy when it was received positively. But I was most proud that, as I spoke with other Girl Guides about my project, I saw them become more conscious of how they could make non-binary youth feel at home in the community.
A large part of their effort centered on ensuring they were respecting others’ pronouns.”
No. Girl Guides are for girls. Let us not confuse youth with your dissonant gender magic.
Let’s also be clear that ‘respecting others’ pronouns’ means compelling others to disbelieve their eyes and lie. Not acceptable in a free society. Compelled speech never is.
“I hope that as we continue to talk about how to better support the queer community, people stop assuming anyone’s pronouns and gender, no matter how they perceive them.
I like my feminine name and wearing the occasional dress. That does not make me any less non-binary or my identity less deserving of respect.
When I’m introduced to someone new, I ask about their pronouns and will tell them mine if it feels safe to do so. That is my way of helping create more understanding and helping others by challenging their assumptions.”
Nah. The rest of society is pretty okay with following and comporting with the material reality we all share.
Be wary when individuals mention the ‘community’ because it is an entity that has no shape, no structure, no formal body. It is a hollow attempt to give their statements and assumptions more gravitas in the public sphere. The ‘x-community’ like claiming to be non-binary is a largely meaningless statement, but it makes the people who say it feel better.
This is a permissible in a free society. The problem is when the Nascently Boring get worked up because others choose not to play their word games with them. It is fine to feel – regardless of the level of comportment with reality – that you are not a woman when you are one.
The expectation of others to go along with your fun-house version of reality though is not reasonable, that is just how society works.
Imagine though spending time on developing an actual personality though that will make people want to interact with you and take pleasure in your company, as opposed to leading every human interaction with your fragility front and centre hoping strangers will play along with fabricated identity (while being devastated when they won’t play make believe with you).
Just say no to being a Nothing Burger and work on developing a real personality that includes a fair helping of resilience, it will save on the therapy bills later in life.

Spoiler: The YWCA’s rationalization will go poorly if you happen to value truth and reality. Let’s dig in and enjoy what happens when organizations become ideologically captured by the cult of gender.

It is nice they start off with the bullshit right off the top. What they have said here is that the feminist movement cannot evolve with the inclusion of adult human males. Isn’t obvious by now that females simply cannot have or run a movement without including men? It’s about time we evolved feminism by including and centring males within it. Nothing could go wrong…
“YWCA Regina is doubling down on its support of the transgender woman it chose to give the keynote speech at the 2023 Nutrien Women of Distinction Awards on May 6.
This comes after the speaker, Fae Johnstone, received significant backlash, transphobic remarks and threats after her attendance at the event was announced on April 21.”
Well of course they are ‘doubling down’. Dealing with recalcitrant females that object to a male colonizing and thus erasing females from society is definitely a clarion call to strengthen your resolve. For the benefit of the casual reader “transphobic remarks” encompass anything a gender ideologue doesn’t agree with.
“The announcement even resulted in calls from far right media to fire Johnstone, who is a high-profile trans activist and a YWCA Canada board member.”
According to most transactivists these days the far right includes anyone who doesn’t believe in their mystical beliefs. A quick quiz – can humans change their sex? If you answer “No”, the answer that comports with material reality we all share – welcome to the far right, you bigot.
“But Melissa Coomber-Bendtsen, CEO of YWCA Regina, said the organization supports Johnstone wholeheartedly.
“She’s an incredible community leader in our country [and] has done a huge amount of work with the federal government on gender and sexually diverse policy and framework,” Coomber-Bendsten said.
“YWCA Regina chose Fae as our keynote speaker because I think that given the current climate that we’re under, it was so important to have the perspective of trans women be given and be shared with our community and Regina.”
The gender cult makes the inroads it does because it manages to manipulate women into somehow believing that men who call themselves women actually are women. Usually the angle used is ‘gosh these poor gender confused males are obviously the most marginalized people to have ever existed, let’s shit on all feminism and centre these poor men in our movement’. It is a fucking sad state of affairs when it becomes okay to erase females and their accomplishments in society in the name of a ‘diverse and shared’ community.

Good. Get used to it buddy. Women are fighting back against transgender ideology and female erasure in our society.

No. People who comport with reality and respect female rights, boundaries, and safety will oppose what you are doing and what you support. People like WRN Canada.
Yeah, so again, its the guilt association. Disagreeing with male gender fantasy pretty much automatically makes you “far right”. By this definition, most of Canada is ‘far right’.
Also, I’m not really sure how including gender-confused men in female spaces, services, and sports leads to “gender equity”. What it actually leads to is males taking female spots in society and making actual females feel unsafe in formally single sex spaces. So no, lets take a large pass on any notion of ‘gender equity’ from this individual.

Women speaking about how inappropriate it is to have a man giving the keynote address at a female awards show is apparently ‘transphobic’. People calling you on your bullshit is what happens in a free society, and let me assure you, the bullshit is flowing hard and fast at the YWCA.
“She said many far right organizations believe trans women are detrimental to the feminist movement. But the YWCA and Johnstone disagree.”
The far right are certainly a powerful entity in Canadian society… (do keep in mind if you like to comport with reality and science this makes you irrecoverably ‘far right-wing’) or maybe just a fantastical construction designed to frighten people into silence about the gender cult. Because the gender cultists do not have arguments. Instead they have to threaten, bully, and intimidate those who would dare question their toxic ideology.
“Trans women experience significant gender inequity. We are more likely to live in poverty, more likely to experience hate, harassment and violence in our lives,” Johnstone said.”
Those with serious mental issues when it comes to dealing with reality and clinging delusions about themselves almost always have serious issues with state of and their place in society. We as a society should seek to get people with gender delusions the rational evidence based therapeutic help they need.
“So a feminist movement that is truly imagining a better world for everybody, one in which we have eradicated gender norms … it has to include transgender, diverse people because we often bear the brunt or significant volume of the hate.”
The misuse of feminist critique is off the charts here. Gender norms (aka gender) are a sets of ‘expected’ behaviours and norms that members of the respective sexes are supposed to follow to be a ‘normal’ male or female in society. These sex stereotypes hurt both women and men in society and their role in society should be diminished. Males and females should not face strictures for operating outside of the perceived gender norms.
Transgender ideology is the polar opposite of this notion. If your male child plays with dolls and is nurturing then by this ideology he needs to be ‘transitioned (put on off-label puberty blockers/cross-sex hormones/surgically mutilated and rendered infertile)’ into a woman. Transgender ideology and the cult of gender is actually reactionary as it seeks to codify the gender stereotypes of what being a male or female is.
Whereas, second wave feminists and many rational people would say people should adopt whichever stereotypes/behaviours they are comfortable with and be done with it. For example, if you are male and want to rock a dress or skirt, that all good. You are a male who likes wearing typically female clothing. All good. You be you, bro! What dress wearing doesn’t do, in any tangible way, is make you female.
“YWCA Regina serves two-spirit peoples, trans women, gender diverse and sexually diverse women in its shelters, programs, outreach and harm reduction work. Coomber-Bendsten said the staff is also diverse and includes transgender women.”
It’s okay to help other people out. It isn’t okay if you get sucked into their reality denying cult.
“We feel a big responsibility to make sure that we are answering that call to action to create an inclusive space in a more safe space. We’ve done a lot of work but, you know, acknowledging that we still have lots of work to do,” said Coomber-Bendtsen.
Bullshit. This is how Woke-Speak works. I will bet millions of dollars that their ‘inclusive space” does not include gender critical women (aka TERFS). The inclusion and safety comes to abrupt halt when you disagree with their gender magic and want to deal with material reality and evidence based arguments. Be aware of the double meanings when activists speak, because what they say and what they mean are almost always two different things.
“Johnstone said there is no way to advance feminism without recognizing that there is not just one definition of a woman and that women won’t always share the same experiences.”
Feminism has been doing just fine with centring females in its movements and actions in society. The only definition needed is this one: Woman = Adult human female.
“”I don’t have everything in common with women who aren’t trans, just like I, as a white woman, have a different experience of womanhood than a Black or Indigenous woman might. It’s not about a universal understanding of womanhood, it’s about dismantling the structures of violence and inequity that harm all of us,” said Johnstone.”
You have nothing in common with adult human females, as you are a man. Socialized as a man and raised as one. You can’t know what its like to be a woman because you are not one.
“While Johnstone is excited to give the keynote speech at the awards, she said she’s tired of the transphobic hate she receives. She said she has been targeted seven times in seven months by far right groups. Johnstone has received death threats and been encouraged to end her life.
“Trans people aren’t asking for much. We’re asking for human rights, dignity and equality,” said Johnstone.”

Why not fund the Vancouver Rape Relief Shelter? It is exclusively a single sex shelter. Sorry raped women, your sanctuary just isn’t “inclusive” enough for Johnstone.
Johnstone’s “inclusivity” ends quite abruptly when when women start speaking about their rights, boundaries, and safety.
“Coomber-Bendtsen said many people believe that when people focus on including trans women and other marginalized communities, it takes away from their own needs.
“That couldn’t be further from the truth,” she said.
Coomber-Bendsten said that a lack of knowledge or understanding in the country does lead to a lack of empathy.
“It is that collective move forward with empathy and knowledge that is really going to bring change in our community.”
While there was vitriol and online attacks following the keynote announcement, YWCA Regina said it also received calls from people that wanted tickets to the event so they could understand more about trans women.”
What is actually stunning is the complete ideological capture of the YMCA. There is a stunning lack of empathy for women whose rights, boundaries, and safety have all been jeopardized and put at risk because of the inane desire to put males into female spaces. Empathy is not required in this situation. Just a large dose of commonsense and a return to respecting females in Canadian society.
Look at how the international YWCA versus the Canadian Branch defines itself. Guess which one retains the focus on females and their needs and which one has been corrupted by gender ideology.

I digress, but it is hard to miss when it is out in plain sight. Let’s finish the article.

The 2023 Nutrien Women of Distinction Award will be distinct for a entirely different set of reasons than those intended. The distinction is highlighting the colonization of female spaces in society by gender confused males and erasure of females in Canadian society.
One truth about male child sex predators is this – They always go to where their prey is. Whether it be a Priest or Drag Queen the need for child safeguarding remains the same, maybe more so the case of DQ’s because no established accountability structure exists.
But let’s go through the CBC story, line by line to see exactly what’s going on over there in CBC land.
“Drag is everywhere — and it has never been more popular.”
According to whom, exactly? Seems very much like a personal opinion as opposed to anything resembling fact.
“Across the country, performers are bringing their art to events like drag brunches, drag story time at libraries, and shows at local gay bars. But with this increased visibility and popularity has come backlash, in the form of hate.”
If we’re just throwing opinion around here which obviously the hosts of CBC Now or Never are, here is one. Most adults don’t know or care about the increased frequency of Drag Events. What puts it on the radar for most adults is when children and youth are the target audience for a Drag Queen event.
Men in womanface are first and foremost adult entertainers and purveyors of adult entertainment. They, if their motivations were transparent would have no justification for interacting with children in their ‘professional’ capacity. “In just the past few months alone, drag events in Windsor, PEI, Nelson, Calgary, Guelph — and more — have been cancelled or rescheduled due to threats of violence. And in Tennessee, a law just passed that bans drag shows in public spaces.”
It would seem there is some contention in our society about the value of adult entertainers interacting with children. It would be beneficial to have a lively public discussion about what exactly happens at DQSH and the concerns/questions for all those involved.

One of things the LGBTQIA+ ‘community’ cannot abide by is debate or criticism of what they think should be part of normal society. Tough beans, all contentious issues merit debate in a free and democratic society.

A non corporate news source is one of the hallmarks of a democratic society. We should be giving more money to the CBC not less in the age of corporate media and fake news.
Somedays it seems like our fringe won’t be happy until all news is Fox news, telling them how awesome it is that they are poor, but selling out the country to the rich is a supremely patriotic act. Job well done.
I love it when the CBC puts together some fascinating historical tidbits about the music I enjoy.
Ahh, you can hear the faint hum of the patriarchal machinery gently whirr in the background as it gently churns out non-provocative titles such as this:
“Sexy outfits for female staff may be discriminatory.”
The unabashed use of the qualifier quickly raised this commentators eyebrow and raised the feminist lobes to a strong yellow alert. Was this a sage nod to journalistic principles or just a slavish introduction to (yet another) slap-happy, patriarchally-reinforcing, equality hug-fest?
Objectification? Nah. Double standards for the sexes?
Thankfully, the code yellow lobe condition turned out to be unnecessary as the article found its way and made some crunchy assertions about the sexism women face in the workplace.
“Should you have to dress sexy to keep your job? Many women working at some of Canada’s popular restaurant chains say they do.
But dress codes for female staff at some restaurants — which can include high heels, tight skirts and heavy makeup — may violate women’s human rights, according to some experts.”
Wow, enforced femininity violating human rights? It’s almost like the material conditions forced on one class of people is destructive and not conducive to healthy existence in society.
“CBC Marketplace investigated the dress codes at some of Canada’s top restaurant chains and heard from dozens of female staff who say they felt pressured to wear revealing outfits or risk losing shifts.
“The dress is so tight that you can see your underwear through it,” says a current employee of Joey Restaurants who asked to remain anonymous for fear of losing her job.
She claims she was told not to wear underwear at all in order to avoid this.”
Because wearing a sexy tight dress is the necessary foundation for serving people food and drink. Hmm, seems like there is a societal standard at work here – rhymes with blofectification….can’t quite put my finger on it. I’m sure my fellow blamers will help me out though…
“It is sex discrimination. I have no doubt about it,” she [University of Ottawa law professor Joanne St. Lewis] says. “The male employees are doing exactly the same task as the female employees … And they do not need to sexualize their clothing. That’s the bottom line.”
Yep. The good prof correctly identifies that problem, there is a set of standards for women, and a set of standards for men. Guess which sex has more harmful rules and stipulations?
“Toronto pastry chef Kate Burnham grabbed headlines in 2015 when she spoke out about her alleged sexual harassment while working in the kitchen of a popular downtown restaurant, Weslodge.
Burnham’s case nabbed the attention of Toronto-based restaurant owner Jen Agg, who took to Twitter to say sexism and sexual harassment are major issues in the industry.
It also provoked Agg to organize a conference on the topic called “Kitchen Bitches: Smashing the Patriarchy One Plate at a Time.” The event, which brought both men and women together to discuss the abuse happening in restaurants, sold out.
Agg says what happens in kitchens is shocking.
“Slapping with tongs, snapping bras, relentless grabbing — women chefs learn quickly to crouch, never bend over, when picking up a pot,” she wrote in an op-ed in the New York Times.
St. Lewis suggests sexualized dress codes can send a signal that tolerating harassment is part of the job.
“That is not something that I think any employer has the entitlement to ask in 2016 of any woman in a Canadian workplace,” she says.”
Yep, because being slapped, having one’s bra snapped and being relentlessly grabbed are all hallmarks of a relentlessly egalitarian society. Women systematically being treated as objects, with little or no respect to their autonomy, it’s almost like there is a prevailing social set of norms, some feminists like to call Patriarchy, at work.
