Imagine somehow thinking that displaying another nations flag – for Canadian political party – is a good thing. The NDP is lost.

The contempt our Federal Canadian Government has for our province seems to know no bounds. We are the only province in a Canada that has a democratic mechanism to elect senators. There are currently three elected senators in waiting that were patently ignored, and instead to represent Alberta a radical gender activist Kristopher Wells and a lawyer that has donated at least 30,000 dollars to the federal Liberal Party.
Here is the list of Senators the citizens of Alberta have democratically nominated for the Senate:

So we have a partisan appointment:
“Fridhandler is a corporate lawyer, arbitrator, mediator, and businessman with over 40 years of legal experience.
[…]
Fridhandler has been an active supporter of the federal Liberal Party during his career, serving as the party’s election co-chair in Alberta between 2004 and 2009, according to his biography page on the website of Calgary law firm Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer LLP, where he has been a partner since 1990.”
And then we have the wacko rainbow gender activist:
“Kristopher Wells’s biography describes him as “an educator and a champion for the 2SLGBTQ+ community who has used research and advocacy to help advance diversity, equity, and human rights in Alberta and across the country.”
He is the editor-in-chief of Journal of LGBT Youth, which is the “world’s leading research publication on 2SLGBTQ+ youth,” according to his biography on the website for MacEwan University in Edmonton, where Wells is an associate professor.
Wells has also helped with the creation of the Pride Tape initiative, which several National Hockey League players have adopted in recent years.”
I’m not sure Trudeau could have picked people LESS representative of the people of Alberta. Let’s take a peek at the calibre of Well’s interaction with the public.

JFC. This is the fringe of the fringe. What a completely inappropriate and disappointing decision made by the Liberal Party of Canada.
We need a media we can put more trust in. Let’s start with this.

It is really amazing the lengths people will go through to confirm their victimhood identities. And of course, the CBC will highlight how awesome it is to use AI to ‘make the internet a safer place for Indigenous people’.
Good lord. If the bad internet is hurting you…turn it off. But rather than make an adult decision, let’s do this:
“A new tool aims to use artificial intelligence to help make the internet a safer place for Indigenous people.
The project was given the name wâsikan kisewâtisiwin, which translates to “kind energy” in Cree.
“We’re trying to make the internet a kinder place. We’re trying to change the trajectory of the internet towards discriminated people,” Shani Gwin told CBC’s Radio Active.”
On the internet you are (with certain measures) essentially anonymous. What you say on the internet will be taken at face value (in theory).
“Being developed in collaboration with the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (AMii), the tool is dual purpose, intended to help both Indigenous people and non-Indigenous Canadians reduce racism, hate speech, and online bias.
The first function of the program is to moderate online spaces like comment sections. While the internet has been a tool used by Indigenous people for advocacy, it also can frequently be an unsafe space for communities that are discriminated against, Gwin said.
Gwin said that all it takes is one comment for online spaces to fester.”
If people want to pillow-up a spot on the internet, they are more than welcome to do so. Usually though, this sort of anti-free speech mechanism escapes from its hug-box confines and is loosed into the wider ecosystem.
“The tool flags hateful comments, and then provides sample responses, while also documenting these instances for future reporting.
The second function of the tool is designed to serve as a writing plug-in for your computer — similar to Grammarly. Intended to help general Canadians understand their bias, it will flag any writing that may be biased against Indigenous people, provide an explanation, and a suggestion for how to reword the sentence.”
Wow! It is like having your own personal Big Brother making sure that you are engaged in ‘right-thinking’ at all times. Plus offering real time suggestions on how to neuter your speech as to not risk offence to others.
“AI right now is designed through the lens of Canada’s dominant culture. And I would say that across the world that without input from racialized communities, including Indigenous people, AI cannot analyze and produce culturally safe and respectful content,” Gwin said.
“Every piece of infrastructure in Canada has been developed from the white patriarchal lens,” she said. “So more racialized people, more women need to get involved in the development of AI so that it doesn’t continue to be built in a way that’s going to harm us again.”
Whoops! Did you catch the turn into Marxist Critical Theory? I certainly did – That damn AI developed through the lens of ‘dominant culture’. Beginning with a conclusion and then looking for evidence based on your assumptions almost always leads to bullshit results.
Just no. AI was developed by a diverse body of people from across the world, let’s not shoehorn your ‘critical perspective’ into this.
“AI bias revealed itself in training, Qroon said, adding that at times when experimenting with the AI, it would try to minimize the tragedies that Indigenous people went through.
“And that’s why it was very important for us to integrate the Indigenous community into this process and get their perspective and get the instructions from them.”
The AI making the decision to not follow a trauma informed narrative? Huh. Well that will need to be fixed ASAP.
“Gwin said that her hope for the project is that it helps take the emotional labour of education off Indigenous people — and free them up to do things besides moderating comment sections.
“I think there might be concerns that people think that this AI tool will take jobs away from Indigenous people, but it’s not, that’s not what it’s for. It’s there to do the work that we don’t want to do.”
Yes, censorship is such an emotional labour. Much better to let a machine – an entity with even less capacity for nuance – take the reins.
“But it also means changing the internet and Canadians’ hearts and minds about who Indigenous people are.”
You mean changing minds in a positive way, right? Because this just looks like social and emotional manipulation in service of maintaining a oppressed/oppressor narrative that benefits no one in Canada.
Children are being harmed because medical practitioners are either ideologically captured or too scared to speak out against the grotesque medical experimentation undertaken in the name of transgender ideology.
The transgender debate revolves around thought terminating clichés being flung at people rather than actual arguments based on facts and evidence. “No debate”, “TWAW”, and of course “you don’t want trans people to exist!” are all meant to emotionally manipulate and coerce people into agreement or at least silence on the the matters of gender affirming care specifically, and transgender health care in general. This is why (trans) activists almost always take this route because the facts (and medical evidence) DO NOT support their position and said evidence often indicates a risk of significant iatrogenic harm for children and adults.
When talking with the gender religious another dodge they will use is puberty blockers are just being used in a small number of cases. Replace ‘puberty blockers’ with lobotomies or thalidomide treatments to see how well this argument holds up…
This tragic medical scandal is what happens when we allow medical decisions to be made on the basis of feelings and activism, as opposed to evidence based medicine.
GAC is being halted in the UK and across Europe – Canada needs to get its head out of the sand and rejoin the medical community that follows evidence based medicine instead of the strictures of transgender activism. Children’s lives are being ruined because of this quackery and it needs to stop.
The article quoted below by Maria Maynes describes the content of the study. Read the full article here.
“A new study has suggested that damage done by puberty blockers is permanent, casting doubt on claims by trans campaigners that the hormone drugs simply “pause” puberty and provide time for children who question their gender.
The preprint study from the Mayo Clinic, a world-renowned leader in medical research, found mild to severe atrophy in the testes and sperm of male children on puberty blockers. The authors of the groundbreaking study have expressed doubt about the “reversibility” of such blockers, a claim made by campaigners who promote the use of the drugs for gender dysphoric children.
Scientists at the world-renowned clinic who carried out the study found that puberty blockers can lead to fertility problems, withering testicles, and even cancer among children who take them. Authors found that puberty blockers hurt the development of testicles and sperm production in ways that cannot be fully reversed, with problems including impacting users’ ability to have children in adulthood.”
[…]
“The recently published preprint came ahead of the long-anticipated Cass Review in Britain, released on Wednesday, with the independent review warning that healthcare professionals felt afraid to discuss their views on transgender services for children. The report also found that there was no evidence that puberty blockers or hormone drugs “buy time to think” or reduce the suicide risk in children suffering from gender dysphoria.
The publication of the review by paediatrician Dr Hilary Cass has confirmed the NHS in England’s shift away from the medicalised treatment of children struggling with their gender, to one focused on talk therapy and support.
The Mayo Clinic preprint, although not yet peer-reviewed or published, suggests that some of the effects of puberty blockers on testes and sperm may not be reversible, sparking concern from leading medics.
Prof Ashley Grossman, a University of Oxford endocrinologist, has pointed to the study as proof that there is ‘no good evidence’ showing puberty blockers help children.
The endocrinologist highlighted the study, saying that the drugs are too risky to be given to the “greatly increased” number of adolescents who identify as transgender.
“Routine puberty blocking treatment for this use has not yet been adequately studied, and many of these children may have other problems for which they need help,’ he added, hinting at a growing body of evidence showing gender confused youngsters often have other, underlying mental health issues,” he said, as he pointed to the early data released by the Mayo Clinic in the preprint last month.
The UK last month joined the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland and Norway in a growing list of European nations to have either placed restrictions on or banned medical interventions for gender dysphoric children.”
We need to act now to stop this reckless experimentation on our children.
Of course there was a protest. Because women speaking about their rights and boundaries is a hateful activity.

Not only that, but for people who consider themselves so very much more educated and worldly than everyone else, I’m shocked, again, in retrospect, at how insulated they are — how little they seem to understand about how people in other parts of the world, other cultures, other classes, and other communities think. The CBC blinders have offered not only a political virtuousness that prevents them even wanting to see outside their bubbles, lest their purity be tarnished by a wrongthought, but has also offered a version of “facts” and “truth” that don’t adjust according to the facts and the truth.

The absolute state of the progressive Left in Canada.
Reality is starting to make a comeback in many parts of the world. Unfortunately for us, the awakening is happening last in Canada and the United States.
