In a ruling that should alarm every woman—and indeed every citizen—who values free speech and the right to defend sex-based protections, Australian women’s rights advocate Kirralie Smith has been ordered to pay $95,000 in damages and issue a forced public statement for the “crime” of accurately describing biological males as men. Smith’s offence? Highlighting the participation of two transgender-identifying males in women’s football competitions and refusing to pretend that men can become women.
Kirralie Smith, director of Binary Australia, an organisation dedicated to affirming that there are only two sexes, was found guilty under New South Wales anti-vilification laws of unlawfully vilifying the individuals by referring to them with male pronouns and terms like “bloke.” She shared publicly available information from football clubs and raised legitimate concerns about fairness, safety, and the integrity of women’s sport. For this, a court has branded her words as inciting “hatred and serious contempt,” imposing a hefty financial penalty that will double if not paid within 28 days, alongside orders to remove posts and pin a court-mandated statement on her social media. This is not justice—it is the state-enforced erasure of women.
When a woman can be punished for stating the undeniable reality that no man can ever be a woman, we have reached a dystopian low. Women fought for decades to establish sex-based rights: single-sex sports, spaces, and services designed to protect female privacy, dignity, and fair competition. These protections exist precisely because biological sex matters—men, on average, retain physical advantages even after hormone treatments, and no amount of self-identification changes chromosomes, reproductive biology, or the lived experience of being female.Yet in modern Australia, courts are increasingly prioritising the feelings of a tiny minority over the rights of half the population.
Smith’s case echoes broader trends, such as the ongoing fallout from rulings like Tickle v Giggle, where biological reality is subordinated to gender identity claims. The message is clear: women must surrender their language, their boundaries, and their advocacy, or face ruinous consequences. What makes this particularly tragic is that Smith’s advocacy was not born of malice but of concern for women and girls. Males entering female sports displace women from teams, podiums, and scholarships. They compromise safety in contact sports. And when women speak up—as Smith did—they are silenced, fined, and forced to “confess” to thought crimes.
Kirralie Smith has vowed to appeal, declaring: “Nothing will steal my joy in knowing that I am a woman and no male ever will be. I am proud to stand for truth and reality.” Her courage is an inspiration. This ruling sets a dangerous precedent not just for activists, but for journalists, politicians, parents, and everyday women who dare to say the obvious: sex is real, immutable, and worth protecting.Women’s rights are not negotiable. They are not “inclusive” costumes for men to don. Until laws stop punishing women for naming reality, the fight must continue.
Support voices like Kirralie’s—because if they can come for her today, they can come for any of us tomorrow.

Males should not be in female changing rooms because these spaces are designed to provide women and girls with privacy, safety, and comfort—needs rooted in biological and social realities. Allowing males, regardless of identity, undermines this by introducing potential risks, from voyeurism to assault, as evidenced by cases like the 2021 Wi Spa incident in Los Angeles, where a registered sex offender exploited lax policies. Women’s boundaries deserve respect, not erosion under the guise of inclusivity, especially when separate facilities can accommodate everyone without compromising female security. Data backs this up: a 2018 UK study found 90% of sexual offenses in changing rooms occurred in mixed-sex spaces. Single-sex areas aren’t about exclusion—they’re about protection.
From Reduxx.info :
“A Canadian mother has come forward to reveal that she was chastised by staff at her local recreation center after reporting that a balding man wearing “fetish gear” was in the women’s changing room. Despite feeling so frightened that she called the police, the mother was told that the man had a right to self-identify into whatever changing room he felt like.
The incident occurred on February 18, when Keri* and her 14-year-old daughter visited the Bonnie Doon Leisure Centre in Edmonton, Alberta. Their plans to have a fun-filled afternoon at the local pool quickly took a turn for the worse after the two entered the changing area to see an adult man “naked except for fetish gear” standing in the center of the room.
Keri tells Reduxx that the man, who appeared to be in his mid-forties, was wearing a “black penis sling” and an exposed rubber breast form. So shocked by the sight, Keri immediately began to usher her daughter out of the changing area.
“My daughter was behind me… I backed up quickly so she would not keep walking forward and yelled ‘help, there is a man in the change room.’” Keri says she went back to the front desk, where she had just paid for the admission to the pool. After explaining what she had seen in the women’s changing area, a male staff member dismissed her concerns.
“He said something like: ‘yes, this is an inclusive facility, what are you afraid will happen?’ and so I told him I was calling the police. He asked me why I felt the need to call the police, but did not try to stop me.”

While waiting for an officer from Edmonton Police Service to arrive, a female staff member approached Keri to ask her about the situation. Keri recorded the conversation with the staff member, and provided the audio to Reduxx for review.
In the recording, Keri is heard giving a statement to the staff member and explaining precisely what she had experienced.
“I am telling you right now – he is a balding man, in his forties, wearing a penis sling and rubber breasts around his neck… fetish rubber breasts slung around his neck,” Keri is heard telling the staff member. “He is in the women’s washroom. I walked in with my 14-year-old daughter… I am 54, I should not have to put up with it. But she should definitely not be exposed to a man enjoying his fetish in the women’s washroom.”
In response, the staff member explains that “it is the city of Edmonton’s policy that you can use whatever changing room you are most comfortable using.” She goes on to defend the man’s attire, saying “they can wear whatever they are comfortable wearing.”
Let’s not forget the CBC and it’s startling(?) lack of coverage of this.
Bless the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation—our noble guardians of progressive virtue—turning a blind eye to fetish-driven males sashaying into female changing rooms with all the grace of a tax-funded diversity seminar. Why bother reporting on something as trivial as women’s safety when you can churn out another glowing piece on inclusivity, eh? It’s not like the CBC would dare risk its pristine reputation as Canada’s woke megaphone by admitting that some dudes in fishnets might not belong where girls are undressing—nah, that’d clash with the narrative. Besides, who needs pesky facts or viewer trust when you’ve got government cheques and a mandate to keep the maple syrup flowing smoothly over any hint of controversy?
Of course there was a protest. Because women speaking about their rights and boundaries is a hateful activity.

Not only that, but for people who consider themselves so very much more educated and worldly than everyone else, I’m shocked, again, in retrospect, at how insulated they are — how little they seem to understand about how people in other parts of the world, other cultures, other classes, and other communities think. The CBC blinders have offered not only a political virtuousness that prevents them even wanting to see outside their bubbles, lest their purity be tarnished by a wrongthought, but has also offered a version of “facts” and “truth” that don’t adjust according to the facts and the truth.

The absolute state of the progressive Left in Canada.
Heartening. :)
It is glorious. People actually discussing trans ideology and not being shut down or cancelled for daring to speak for female rights, boundaries, and safety.
2024 is off to a fine start.
The London Museum in London Ontario Canada has erased April Hutchinson from the exhibit that she was featured in and also helped to set up. What was this woman’s crime? She advocates on her own time that her sport should be segregated by sex. That is, she should not have to compete against men who happen to ‘identify’ as women. April is being punished and erased because she wants a fair playing field for those who participate in the sport of female power-lifting.
More stories are coming out everyday about women being excluded, erased, and shamed for want to protect and preserve their rights, spaces, and safety in Canadian society.
So, my fellow No Space for Hate’ people – it is way past time to dig past the hollow slogans you support and actually see the result of your, what I can only term as ‘low information’ stance. There is a serious conflict going on right now in society between females and a small vocal minority of men who identify as women. The males in dresses are erasing females from society and as a distinct class. This trend must be reversed and female rights and reality must be preserved.

I spent a fair amount of time poking fun at the US right-wing here on DWR. But as of late is that very same right wing that is standing up and fighting for the rights, boundaries, and safety of women. The noisy befuddled activist Left has taken over the discourse on the Left and as result it has turned into utter identitarian hogwash.
The Left I knew was about promoting the interests of the working class and helping people get to a place economically and socially where they could contribute to society and have a reasonable life within the bounds of our Western values. Now? It is intersectionality 24/7 in a competition to see is the most oppressed and who is best at fracturing society into warring factions bent on dismantling the very system that lets them spout their egregious bullshite.
So, you have to look to whomever has the most reasonable and fact based ideas – it is how we actually progress as a nation.
